Project Pie : Where You Can Be a Pizza Master.... or Monster!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I'm a pizza monster in real life!

When no one is looking I could eat an entire pizza pie in just a few minutes, even when I'm not hungry. It's the only meal that I order, or eat first even when there's several choices available.

Rice is the staple food of Filipinos but I quickly take rice for granted when there's pizza around. That's probably why if you will browse through my other articles here in my blog, you'll see a lot of pizza places I've tried - within a few days from each other.....hehehe.

A friend of mine probably realized that so she recommended a visit to Project Pie - the newest pizza place located along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City that will surely spark a lot of interest from pizza lovers.

Lorenzo the Musical : Of OFWs, Saints, and Rock

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What do you get when you put together an OFW on death row, a fugitive who became a saint, and rock music? Lorenzo is a theatrical production on the life and struggles of two Lorenzos: Laurence (OJ Mariano), an OFW on death row in an Arab country, and St. Lorenzo Ruiz (Lorenz Martinez), the first Filipino canonized as a saint for his martyrdom in Japan.

Lorenzo’s executive producer, Christopher de Leon, has assembled a stellar artistic team for the production. The musical’s libretto was written by award-winning writers Juan Ekis and Paul Dumol, with the collaboration of Joem Antonio. The musical’s beautiful melodies were composed and arranged by Ryan Cayabyab. Internationally-trained Gino Gonzales heads production design. And, last but not least, the play is directed by industry veteran Nonon Padilla.

The production is unique in its storytelling; its premise has Laurence dictating the libretto of a musical he has written about Lorenzo Ruiz to a Filipino reporter. As a three-act "musical within a play," Lorenzo brings the stories of the two Lorenzos side by side, parallel stories at first glance. The parallelism ends there, however, for it is through the tale of one Lorenzo that the other's is redeemed. How? Well, you just have to watch to find out!

Cell Sites Radiation-Safety Certified by DOH

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The cell sites of Globe Telecom have been issued radiation-safety certificates by the Department of Health, another indication that radio frequency signals coming from such facilities do not pose any adverse health impact.

“The radiation-safety certificates for every cell site that we have in the country are a proof that concerns over potential health hazard coming from base stations are without basis,” said Emmanuel Estrada, Globe Head of Network Technologies Strategy.

The radiation-safety certificates issued by the health department are based on guidelines issued by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) on maximum human exposures to radio frequency fields.

“Radio signals follow the so called ‘inverse-square law of physics’. This means that the signal level from a cell is radically reduced as the distance from the antenna increases. Thus the radiation at ground level is substantially lower compared to radiation levels emitted by the two-way radio of security personnel or a cell phone,” Estrada emphasized.

Epson Supports Batangas Youth Through School Desk Donation

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Social responsibility response has increased tremendously over the past years. Many companies now recognize the need to help and support the country by means of helping out the less fortunate and the "poorest of the poor" as a priority to gain a more significant improvement in the condition of society.

The most important need of the country is in Education. I am surprised why the government couldn't really address efficiently the needs of schools for a more meaningful Education system There will always be a lack of everything to the most important factor in society next to food and employment opportunities.
It is admirable to see companies and organizations who are willing to lend a hand to provide the much needed basic necessities.

Seeing an unexpected 35% rise in the student enrollment rate this year in Lipa City, Epson responded by providing school desks to three public schools.
