Summer has always been everyone’s favorite part of the year. Two months of rest from stressful activities during the school year feels like paradise to students like me.

This year’s summer was a blast. My family and I visited Boracay for the 4th time. My daddy’s hometown is in Camaligan, Batan, Aklan so whenever we visit my grandfather, we can always go to Boracay if we want since it is near and we can afford the trip.

Boracay is a small island in the Philippines located south of Manila and off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Out of all the islands in the world, I can say Boracay has the best beaches in the world.

In every year we had our summer vacation. Many students like me got bored. And to control our boredom we do things like surfing the net all day, shopping in malls, and meet-up with friends and many more. But sometimes we cannot control what will happen to us. We just go with the flow because it’s maybe a destiny. Who knows? We cannot avoid every year the unexpected incident happened to us. Some are good influences but mostly bad.

What happened to my summer was like a roller coaster. I went to different places explore and explore. We even go to Tarlac because it’s my cousin’s wedding. And we stayed there for only 2 days. While our other schoolmates having summer class and UPCAT reviews we didn’t forgot to have fun. We had our swimming last April together with my previous classmates.

What about summer? Summer, is the much-awaited season of every student. It is our time to unwind, relax, and chill-out and our break from doing sundry school assignments, exams, and projects. This is the same reason why we aim to make the most out of this season. But in what way can we best spend our time during summer? My previous April-May has again proven that it is always best to spend vacation time with the people closest to your heart.

During my summer days, I was forced by my mom to go to my province at Calaca, Batangas to visit our relatives and to join in the celebration of the town's festival. We usually go there at least two (2) times a year. In all honesty, I would normally want to just stay home in Pasig City than to go to our provincial rest house maybe because of my flashiness/vanity.

But our recent trip to Batangas knocked all my reservations and hesitations out. For one, I got the chance to breathe in the cool and fresh air as we viewed the infamously beautiful Taal Volcano. Taal Volcano is known for being the second most active volcano in the Philippines. Along our way to our province, we managed to see the breathtaking scenic spot as we passed on the zigzag road of Tagaytay (sometimes called as Bitukang Manok).
