Laguindingan Airport Opening Moved by DOTC for Passenger Convenience

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We all know that each and everyone in the field of customer service must always consider the customers as top priority. We all aim to please the customers so we can maintain a harmonious relationship with them so that they would continue to remain as our customers.

Sometimes we even need to pamper them once in a while so they would feel important. That's the reason why there are discounts, promos, freebies, special offers, and other similar marketing strategies that are proliferating so that the customers would recognize some form of rewards for being loyal, transferring or new customers.

The same with government agencies, like the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), which must make all situations amenable to most of their customers, if not all.

Bibiano Fernandes : From the Slums to the Jungles and Now the Bright Lights of Manila

As one of ONE FC's co-headliners and Bantamweight World Champion, Bibiano Fernandes will be competing Koetsu Okazaki on a world stage at SM Mall Of Asia Arena this coming May 31, 2013. From the slums of Brazil and the isolated jungles of the Amazon to the bright lights of Manila, Bibiano shares his story and journey with us.

Fernandes grew up in the slums of Manaus, Brazil. Left to fend for himself after the passing of his mother, a young Fernandes scavenged for food in the Northern Brazilian city, living on leftovers and begging for food. He even spent several years living off the land in the Amazon Jungle. Fernandes revealed that he does not think about those young times, although when pressed, he added that his childhood probably developed his never-say-die attitude.

He returned to Manaus after a few years. Without a home and with nobody to turn to, a teenage Bibiano began cleaning houses and wash cars in exchange for food. There was a Jiu-Jitsu school in the neighborhood and he was mesmerized by what he saw. One of the students at the school became his friend and volunteered to pay a month’s fee for him to train. “He asked me if I wanted to train and I immediately said yes.” A month after rolling and tapping out veterans with years of experience, the coach asked him if he will like to compete in an upcoming tournament. Bibiano explained he had no money to pay neither the monthly fees nor the entry fee for the competition. Bibiano explained, “The coach simply said ‘Bibiano you come everyday and clean the gym’” and allowed him to train for free.

Primero Casa Filipino : Well-Deserved Buffet Bragging Rights

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Would you agree with me if I say that the Filipinos totally love fiestas?... and a buffet is the closest one you could get to if you can't wait for the next fiesta to come along?

I strongly believe that almost everyone here loves to dine on a feast with several choices of sumptuous food that will delight most of the senses, especially the taste.  We also enjoy a meal when we are given a choice to taste a bit of everything, or pick just a few of the dishes we really want.

For example, I love seafood better than meat, but would gladly take a small bite of each type just to taste them, and find out which I would choose to come back for seconds or on my next visit.

Though I couldn't really eat a lot in just one seating, I really prefer a variety than just one specialty. A buffet is the most affordable way to surround myself with a grand selection of dishes.

SumoSam Olympia Grand Launch: Big and Better Buffet in the Heart of Makati

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It's time for the ceremonial cutting of the Maki by SumoSam co-owner Marvin Agustin to signify the official launch of the newest SumoSam branch. The event was witnessed by the media and guests a few nights ago.

I got an invite to witness this somewhat "historical" event that formally launched one of the newest branch of SumoSam Restaurant that's a lot different from the previous branches. It's that Japanese restaurant owned by three partners namely Marvin Agustin, Ricky Laudico, and Raymund Magdaluyo.

SumoSam Olympia located at the lower ground floor of the Somerset Building (just right beside the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati) offers a buffet style unlike the other SumoSam branches. For only Php 499 per person, you can get to try a variety of delectable dishes and delicacies done best at SumoSam. They also offer breakfast from 6am to 10am and happy hours menu .

They are also open 24 hours a day and is actually the biggest and the most elegant Sumosam restaurant in the Metro, in the heart of the Makati commercial and business district. The place is very ideal for private meetings, special functions, and corporate events.

Chris Cayzer Acoustic Nights at Kanto : Intimate Interviews, Hilarious Bloopers and an Engaging Performance

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was my first time to meet Chris Cayzer at one of his gigs a few days ago. A friend of mine invited me to join him to watch his show at the Kanto Resto Bar located at the Podium in Ortigas Avenue in Pasig. Since it was near from where I live, I decided to tag along and see the performance.

I pretty much love acoustic music where you would know who can really sing or just relying on a great sound system or the loud accompanying band music.

It is also with added admiration to see a performer play a musical instrument on his own. It makes an impression of multiple talents - singing and playing the guitar puts Chris Cayzer at the level of other talented acoustic singers.

I guess you really have to know how to play an instrument and sing at the same time to be able to attain a performance full of feelings or emotions that would hit deep the hearts of your fans.

Manila International Auto Show Boasts of Stunning Babes and Bumpers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

For the nth year running, car enthusiasts raced to the World Trade Center a few days ago for the highly anticipated Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) organized by the Worldbex Services International (WSI).

Many are saying that the Manila International Auto Show of 2013 is a far cry from shows slapped on with an imported name and  MIAS once again proved that it is the best automobile show in the country with more than a hundred of cars on display from hundreds of exhibitors. Would you agree?

They say every year, Worldbex Services International outdoes itself with their highly successful events, and the recent Manila International Auto Show is definitely proof of WSI’s excellence.

But the other sensational stars of the MIAS are the equally alluring kinds with magnificent bumpers to boasts. I'm talking about the car show promo girls or models that have been a constant sight at every car show including MIAS. It seems they will always be there as an added attraction and highlight to the car show events....and photographers, both pros and newbies, would not miss on the opportunity to have some photo ops with the lovely ladies clad in sexy scantily outfits.

Bogart the Explorer is Now "Bagsik", the Superhero!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Marco Ho is Bogart the Explorer, the famous YouTube character that parodies the late wildlife expert Steve Irwin and his distinctive Australian accent, or was it Discovery Channel’s Bear Grylls of Man vs. Wild. Well, you be the judge if its either of the two or if he is uniquely his own identity.

You would see him in YouTube making fun out of everything Filipino - its culture and the people themselves. He is widely known for his humorous videos like the Philippine Snatcher, the Philippine Barker, and other similar video episodes that will surely keep you laughing out loud.

This guy, from Davao city, is planning to have a superhero movie soon, but he needs all your help to make it possible! You can sponsor or contribute some financial assistance- in short, they need all your money - well, most of it, just so they could start production and filming a movie about "Bagsik", the superhero!

Below is a video invite he made for Wazzup Pilipinas during the Komikon 2013 event held at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig city.
