Pinoy Tekkie Wins a Sony Alpha NEX-F3

" THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the entries! You guys gave great posts! I'm hoping to run more internal contests for you all! I had my friends pick and their choice was actually also mine and also the same choice of our Managing Editor, ___, when asked for her opinion. Seemed like this person just put in that extra effort and that he really wanted and needed a good camera!

So congratulations to Ross Flores Del Rosario!!! May this ___ camera bring you great features and amazing photos!

Hope you can write a review about if after using it ok Ross!

Congrats again! Thanks to everyone who joined!"

I am very grateful that I won a camera from a contest that I joined sponsored by a community blog.

I would like to think that I won because I deserved it and not because it was an "arranged" or "manipulated" win.

It kinda sucks when one will upbraid me afterwards and make me think he exerted a great deal of effort just to make me win. "Luto ba?"

But thanks anyway. I will forever cherish it and will remain a reminder of the good times that we shared. "Maala-ala mo kaya.....ang sumpa mo sa akin?...na ang pag-ibig mo ay... sadyang di magmamaliw...."

Solar Solution: Bringing Light to Provinces

Wazzup Pilipinas !

I hated "brown-outs" (those smaller versions of a black-outs) ever since childhood. A “brownout” in the city is really unthinkable for city folks. Almost all of the daily requirements of living depends on electricity. For a social media person like me, it keeps me connected on the Internet - you wont be able to connect if there's no power to run your computers. Though there are laptops and portable wi-fis, it really won't last for more than a few hours.

Living without electricity in an urban area like ours will surely gather serious complaints. For the whole day, almost everything we do is powered by some form of electricity.

Think about how residents in remote provinces live where establishing power lines is almost impossible due to the terrain and distance. Imagine then how they are able to cope without any kind of steady source of electricity and only kerosene lamps serve as the dependable source of light in the evening. Aside from being a fire hazard, gas lamps are not be bright enough for reading and have been found to produce climate-changing carbon dioxide emissions. On the other hand, electric generators are just too costly for the regular people.

Enchanted Kingdom : The Magic Really Stays With You

Wazzup Pilipinas !

A visit at the Enchanted Kingdom brought back childhood memories when my friends and I used to frequent carnivals and "peryahans" during town fiestas. My friends would always know when and where there's going to be a fiesta where a "perya" would always be present.

From the Ferris Wheel to the Merry-Go-Round or Carousel, to the Octopus, the Roller Coaster and the Train Rides, we would ride them all - over and over again - until everyone's too tired to lift a foot or their ass from where they're seated.

As a child, I really loved the adrenaline rush while riding in the colorful attractions of the carnivals. Even up today I still long for the excitement that every ride brings.

Epson Philippines Brings Smiles To Kids In Children’s Home

Employees of Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) recently visited the Precious Heritage Children’s Home for an afternoon of smiles and cheers with the children in the facility.

Precious Heritage Children’s Home is a grassroots ministry that provides housing, food, clothing, medical care, and education to the orphaned, abandoned, malnourished, and neglected children in the Philippines. It is an accredited Social Welfare and Development Agency (SWDA) registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Top Five Reasons Why There Are Bloggers With Bogus Breaking Boos

Wazzup Pilipinas !

It has been labeled as the "new media". Many has claimed it is better and more influential than the traditional media of print, TV and radio. Many companies are now tapping the services of the blogging and social media community to spread information about their products, establishments and services. Some would say it has exceeded the reach of the traditional media and is now more effective in promotions. Indeed social media influence has grown big and powerful, and with every rising medium there would always exist competing groups and a variety of misguided elements that would try to bring each other down so one could claim top level ranking and emerge more influential than the rest.

Whether you'll admit it or not, each one of us would want our blogs to excel and be part of the top ranking blogs out there. This is especially true for those that have their blogs as their primary source of income, and equally true for those that consider their blog as a business venture.

Jeepney Manila : Not Yet Launched But Already Being Attacked

Wazzup Pilipinas !

Jeepney Manila was intended as a community blog where bloggers can get a chance to contribute their articles. It will be a repository of our best articles that we would like to share to the blogging community. Everyone, whether newbies, experts or veteran bloggers are allowed to have their articles a part of the community blog which we can all claim as our portfolio.

It is still in the works, and the URL we are using is just a temporary free site while we work on the domain name and hosting requirements. We are also still working on the site template and design. For the meantime, those who would like to share their articles as early as today may do so. We will then have it transferred to the domain name http://www.jeepneymanila.com soon.

We have not officially operated yet  but there are already detractors trying to put us down already.

I hate to jump into all sorts of conclusions, but one thing is sure, we were specifically mentioned so the attack was meant for yours truly....and the group I am recognized with.
