What would you expect from a bakeshop located in a neighborhood that's only easily accessible to the residents and other business establishments nearby? We went there by taxi but one of our blogger friends had to commute because he had to go there on his own for missing our ride due to a faulty Internet connection (you know who's at fault). It's infront of a very popular 24 hour convenience store so you won't miss it.

Anyway, you'll be surprised of what we discovered almost hidden somewhere at Caloocan! Though at first you won't be impressed because there's not much eye-candy to see, I was very hopeful my viewpoint will change the moment they serve the food. Whoa! my hunch was correct! When they served the cute little Brazo de Mercedes cupcake, I was like ... "Wow!"

The beautifully whipped meringue frosting with the yellow-orange filling in the middle made the cupcake enticing. Though I was not too impressed with the taste, maybe because I was used to eating a long-time family favorite from another bakeshop, it was my first time to see one served as a cupcake. The great thing about myKaffe Bakeshop is that the hands-on owner can easily adjust her creations based on customer feedback. We've learned that she has a large kitchen filled with all the essentials to please a professional pastry chef. Now I am really envious!

I received a special treat when I got home from a whole day of event hopping since December has kept me busy with lots of invites from different brands.

They were all cute and colorful making them perfect for the holidays!

I first learned about them during the Halloween season because of their creatively designed cupcakes especially the ones with green themed designs containing the usual Halloween images. So I was deeply glad when they sent me a tweet asking me to try their adorable cupcakes. I immediately replied and accepted their invitation.

However, due to some personal emergencies, we had to postpone the delivery of the cupcakes to another time. ...and so it's nearing Christmas already that is why they opted sending in Christmas-themed "Cuppy Keyks!

Unlike cakes where you have to slice it, cupcakes allows you to taste as much other variety as you want without ruining an entire cake.


I've been longing to write about Gigi Coffee and Cupcakes for the past weeks already since I was there at their restaurant in Eastwood, Libis Quezon City with my friends but the several out-of-town travels and daily events always kept me from sitting in front of my computer to write about it.

Its the hardest article to write about - the story about my dining experience with some fancy cupcakes and coffee concoctions to satisfy my cravings for the best tasting sweets and drinks.

Gigi Coffee and Cupcakes definitely made an impression, and a worthy piece to write about, which makes it really hard just to sit down and write some simple paragraphs.

Sweet Mamita's Cupcakes is just a home business started by a mother who is very fond of creating delectable masterpieces. She's obviously very creative and is patient with the many intricate designs she comes up with her cupcakes. Along with one of her loving daughter who helps her out both in the kitchen and in marketing the cupcakes online, they are a pair and a formidable team to watch out for.

The person behind Sweet Mamita is also already a grandmother to quite a number of grandchildren from her older kids, and some of her kids also share the same passion and interest in running a food business, like one of her daughters who is also into the food business running Aryan's Restaurant and Bar located in Paranaque's East Service Road.

I believe their business has a huge potential to grow big if their marketing is inventive enough, the quality of their creations are maintained, and their creativeness with their designs and recipes are sustained.
