Dayanara Torres: ASAP Hails the Dancing Queen of the 90s

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Can I just say, Dayanara Torres is still smashingly beautiful! She is undoubtedly still as beautiful as ever.

My eyes were just glued on the TV as she performed live with back-up dancers. It was surely an emotional flashback for many of her fans. Now, she's back as an instant celebrity in the Philippines!

We got to see her again a few days ago when she judged the Miss Universe 2016 beauty pageant in Manila together with Sushmita Sen, Leila Lopes, Francine LeFrak, Mickey Boardman, and Cynthia Bailey, but her appearance during the anniversary of ASAP on ABS-CBN for their 22nd year was such a throwback moment that you can't stop reminiscing those years when she was hailed as the Dancing Queen of the Philippines.
Dayanara Torres is more than happy to be back in the Philippines, which she once considered her home. We had many memorable moments with the former Miss Universe from the very moment she won her title until she became a familiar face of Philippine showbiz.

Since the Puerto Rican beauty queen flew to Manila to be a judge in Miss Universe, she also took the time to reunite with old friends including her co-hosts at ASAP. She was seen with Gary, Angeli, and Gina Valenciano, Rajo Laurel, Nix Alanon, Tim Yap, Rey Rolla, JM Rodriguez, and fellow beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez.

Being a former host, together with top OPM performers like Martin Nievera, Ariel Rivera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Vina Morales and Gary Valenciano, she rightfully deserves to return to the ASAP show for a reunion to celebrate the anniversary.

The Pinoy movie entitled Basta't Kasama Kita featured Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres, together with Filipino celebrity Aga Muhlach, was the most memorable appearance of the Dancing Queen during her stay in the Philippines. "It wasn't a terrible breakup, but I do remember you know, being hurt and wanting to go, wanting to pack my stuff" says Dayanara. Her other publicized break-up was with American singer Marc Anthony whom she married in 2000, had two children, but divorced in 2004. Aga Muhlach, who was once her boyfriend when she was in the Philippines. If there was actually a heartbreak (the public knew) Aga went through it was his love for Dayanarra. I even saw him talk about it in a talk show years ago.

The break-up happened after their movie also due to the spin romance Dayanara had with Marc Anthony. I guess the saying "What goes around, comes around" holds true since both parties got a dose of their own medicine. The two were known to break hearts of past loves. So Dayanara left Aga for Marc, and Marc left Dayanara for Jennifer Lopez.

Our nation's dear romeo though, learned his lesson and finally settled down. Aga Mulach is happily married to Charlene Mulach and they have twins!

At the ASAP anniversary show, Dayanara showed off her dance moves to tunes like "Dancing Queen," "Feels Like Dance," and "Side to Side."

It was goosies all over for us who grew up seeing her on national TV! Dayanara Torres is indeed the one and only Dancing Queen back then and now! Everyone went nostalgic with her sophisticated and elegant dance moves. She is still so lovely at 42. Dayanara just slayed that number!

She also had a reunion with her co-stars in the previous Hataw Na movie. Will she also have a reunion with her Basta's Kasama Kita co-stars led by Aga Muhlach? or will she partner for a new movie with Piolo Pascual ?
Wildflower star Maja Salvador turned into a fan girl when she met Dayanara. On Instagram, she posted their photo and captioned, “With the Dancing Queen” and “Ang ganda niya pa rin bes.”

True enough, Dayanara remains proudly a Miss Universe beauty even at her age. Not only because of her physical attributes befitting a beauty queen, but also because of her warm heart that continues to beat hard for the Filipinos.
