Soon to be developed is our very own Wazzup Pilipinas mobile app that will not only send to your mobile phones the latest news and stories from the Wazzup Pilipinas blog site, but it will also engage the readers to post their own breaking news, stories, announcements, warnings, even selfies and groupfies, using their smartphones and will be posted directly on a special section of our blog.
This will make our readers the citizen correspondents of Wazzup Pilipinas! Using the smartphone's camera, they can take photos of any ongoing crime, accident, disobedience, vandalism, theft, etc. It can also be used to give updates or warnings on disasters or calamities like storm, earthquakes, fires, landslides, etc. The fun side is our readers can also send in photos of noble deeds in action, and give praises to heroes such as taxi drivers who returned a passenger's wallet, a young man who helped an old lady cross the street, etc. Also, users can post selfies or groupfies with famous personalities, tourist spots, or shots of their food from a restaurant. ...and a lot more possibilities!
What makes this app different from what we currently have right now? It's fully customizable for the Wazzup Pilipinas blog site, the self-declared Pambansang Blog ng Pilipinas! This means all your requests for changes, modifications or enhancement can be done if appropriate and necessary. We will listen to you as communications will always be on a two-way basis.
I'm pretty excited with our 3rd meeting with 8layer Technologies, Inc. for the submission of their proposal for the initial design of the Wazzup Pilipinas mobile app (first phase). The mobile app was designed to engage our readers to be "concerned citizen correspondents" so they can instantly report breaking news, emergencies, accidents, traffic violations, warnings, reminders, etc. in real time, and all their posts will go directly to our site and also received by fellow readers who have the mobile app.
All emergency reports that needs immediate action will be forwarded to the corresponding authorities as we will also partner with our government agencies.
There will also be a rewards system where correspondents will earn points every time they send in a valid shout out with substantial and verified correct information. As mentioned, there will be a verification process for responsible reporting. For example, every 10 points will be equivalent to a token commensurate to a value which gets higher as points increase. The correspondents also level up in ranking earning them designation. The tokens get bigger if they choose not to claim their points yet. It's our way of encouraging readers to get involved as concerned citizen correspondents.
Again, there's nothing stopping you from posting your fun photos like selfies, groupfies, photo ops with celebrities, politicians, special someones, also food shots, tourist spots, destinations, and all memorable moments you have.
