What Can Chris Brown Do With His One Million Dollars?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Grammy Award-winning entertainer Chris Brown is again in the news, and again perhaps not in a way he wants.

Philippine immigration officials have barred the singer-songwriter from leaving the country due to a fraud complaint filed by the influential Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) sect. In the complaint, the INC claims that Brown and his Canadian promoter, John Michael Pio Roda, swindled the sect when it failed to show up for a New Year’s Eve concert in 2014. The INC maintains that Brown and his promoter have been paid in full ($1,006,250, to be exact) for the concert.

Now that all is clear about how much (allegedly) Brown pocketed from a concert he didn’t show up for, Lamudi Philippines has put together a list of luxury properties he can spend his money on while stuck in the Philippines. After all, a million bucks can go a long, long way here.

45-month rent in this Forbes Park home

Not much information is available for this sprawling, 1,800-sqm property in the posh Forbes Park, aside from the fact that it commands a monthly rent of Php1 million ($21,980), has five bedrooms, a swimming pool, and a garage that can perhaps accommodate up to 10 cars (it sits on a 2,000-sqm lot after all). But one thing’s for sure: should he decide to rent this house Brown would be living close to boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, who owns a house nearby, so weekly boxing practices may not be out of question. After all, Brown is known notoriously for getting into fights.

Purchase this 263-sqm condo in the Ritz Tower

This condo property is located in the very expensive Apartment Ridge area along Ayala Avenue, and just a stone’s throw away from Ayala Center and the Manila Peninsula. The condo may be too understated for Brown’s taste, but he might be delighted to know that one of its rumored residents is none other than former First Lady—and equally infamous—Imelda Marcos. Perhaps Brown can get an advice or two from Mrs. Marcos on how not to get caught.

Buy this beach lot in Palawan

Although Brown may not be allowed to own land in the Philippines, he can purchase this beautiful 32,000-sqm beach lot in the picturesque El Nido if he marries a Filipino national, or acquire it on a leasehold basis for 25 years (and extend it for another 25 years). That gives him plenty of time to sort whatever dispute he’s facing at the moment. Who knows, the island’s tranquil environs and spectacular limestone cliffs may be exactly what he needs to reflect on the current turn his life has taken.
