Wazzup Pilipinas!

Ford Philippines once again takes center stage at the 11th Manila International Auto Show with the reveal of the all-new Everest and the launch of the new Expedition Platinum, completing the line-up of segment-leading cars, SUVs, and trucks in the Ford pavilion.

Joining the Everest and Expedition Platinum are seven other popular Ford nameplates. These include the exciting Fiesta equipped with the award-winning 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine, the dynamic Focus that blends smart and safety technology seamlessly, the ground-breaking EcoSport compact urban SUV that redefined a whole new segment, the Escape and Explorer Sport that bring style and power together with their fuel-efficient EcoBoost engines, and the best-selling Ranger that tops its segment in the market. The iconic Mustang that continues to excite generations after generation will also be another highlight at the Ford stand, showcasing the 50 Years Limited Edition.

These vehicles will be on full display during the four-day motor show event as a testament of the company’s on-going commitment to deliver quality, fuel-efficient, safe and smart vehicles to its customers in the Philippines.

“We are very excited to showcase our most complete line-up of vehicles to date. We want to display the very best of Ford and that means bringing in our One Ford vehicles from the global stage and into the homes of our loyal Filipino customers,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.

All-New Everest

The reveal of the all-new Ford Everest marks a new direction for one of the most sought after Ford SUVs. It redefines the SUV segment with its revamped bold design, advanced technology, stunning off-road and on-road capability, and a refined interior. Completely new inside and out, the all-new Everest is set to challenge what customers can expect from their traditional SUV.

Tough and technologically sound, the all-new Everest brings all the qualities of a One Ford vehicle together while staying true to its reputation of being highly durable and versatile. Strong, smart, and stylish, the Everest embodies Ford’s fun-to-drive DNA to deliver rewarding and dynamic on-road handling and true off-road capability, offering no compromises on refinement and comfort.

“The all-new Ford Everest clearly reflects our global SUV capability. With a rugged, sculptural design that reflects its unshakeable toughness and technological prowess, the all-new Everest blends smart, strength and style to bring consumers a remarkable and versatile SUV with true off-road capability,” said Hart.

The seven-seat Everest comes with several first-in-segment features including Terrain Management System, panoramic sunroof, third-row PowerFold seats and Power Tailgate, Active Park Assist and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, which informs drivers when there is a vehicle in their blind spot while driving or when preparing to reverse out of parking spots.

It also comes equipped with the latest generation of Ford’s in-car connectivity solution, SYNC 2, which boasts of an eight-inch touchscreen with color-coded corners for easy menu navigation.

The all-new Ford Everest will be manufactured out of Rayong, Thailand. More details on pricing and availability will be shared during its official launch next month.

New Ford Expedition Platinum

The new Ford Expedition Platinum is the most powerful yet fuel-efficient model to date since first being introduced in 1996. The new Platinum series further elevates the Expedition experience with an updated look and finish, both inside and out, giving the SUV a grander and more refined stance.

With the Platinum series bringing the Expedition into a whole new arena of design and style, the exterior has been updated with a new grille with LED fog lamps, setting that aggressive tone that perfectly complements the flagship of Ford SUVs. It also features a redesigned rear hatch and subtle, chrome-tipped exhaust pipes and 22-inch wheels, making it the largest and boldest offering in the segment today.

Inside, the updated interior of the Expedition Platinum incorporates a fresh center stack to accommodate an 8-inch touch screen for SYNC with MyFord Touch. The driver information cluster also features two full-color 4.2-inch LCD screens. The Platinum series is tailored with lush Brunello leather seating with accented with French-seamed stitching.

“The Expedition Platinum is a capable full-size utility vehicle for our discerning customers who want the very best in an SUV. It is the ultimate expression of class and refinement,” said Minnie Valencia-Bustamante, vice president for marketing and sales, Ford Philippines.

At the heart of the vehicle is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which promises more power, efficiency and performance using direct injection and twin turbochargers, delivering a total output of 370 PS of power and 569 Nm of torque. This gives drivers not just better fuel economy but more power and torque on demand at very low engine speeds.

To maximize performance and control, the vehicle is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring a manual mode that allows the driver to use a shift-mounted rocker switch to select the desired gear.

The North American Expedition Platinum series is the only Ford model to offer a continuous controlled damping suspension that allows drivers to select from 3 drive models – comfort, normal, and sport. The Expedition remains to be the only full-size utility vehicle not classified as a luxury offering to feature an independent rear suspension. This helps deliver more confident ride and handling characteristics, and allows for the lower, more convenient fold-flat third-row bench seat.

It comes with the latest popular technologies like SYNC with MyFord Touch, push-button start, Blind Spot Information System® and Ford’s innovative electric power-assisted steering to give passengers both convenience and safety while on the road.

Other new technologies on the Expedition Platinum include a 10-speaker, 700-watt Sony audio System, Intelligent Access with push-button start, rearview camera, seven-color, interior ambient LED lighting, and Ford truck apps to help make trailer towing and off-road driving easier.

“With a refreshed new look and a quieter cabin with state-of-the-art smart technologies, the Ford Expedition Platinum is guaranteed to give our customers the safest and most premium riding experience,” said Valencia-Bustamante.

The new Ford Expedition Platinum will officially be on sale starting in July at a retail price of Php 3,488,000 at Ford dealerships nationwide. It will be available in the following colors: White Platinum, Tuxedo Black and Magnetic Metallic.
