Trafalgar Launches Mandarin Language Guided Holidays in Asia Pacific

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Trafalgar, the world’s leading guided holiday specialist, has launched its Trafalgar Mandarin guided holiday programmes here in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region. Recognising the need to cater to the fast growing demands of the Chinese speaking market, it was decided to bring the Trafalgar Mandarin programme to the region and offer up cross cultural, authentic travel experiences to Chinese travellers.

This programme will be available in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia. To date, Trafalgar Mandarin has had a successful trial year within China in 2014, and the brand is looking forward to empowering Chinese travellers in those countries with these enhanced travel experiences to Europe and the USA.

‘Travel is fast becoming a necessity in our constantly changing and evolving society, and a large segment of that market are Mandarin speaking travellers who prefer to have their creature comforts on holiday.’, said Robin Yap, President of the Travel Corporation in Asia. ‘We recognised the need for a Chinese programme because these Mandarin-speaking travellers, although they want to travel with like-minded people, are also discerning individuals who just don’t want the standard group travel product.

Our research and knowledge of this important market shows they seek a deeper, more meaningful experience of travel; however it has to be carefully curated with a mixture of special comforts such as more Asian style meals, unique guiding and personal time. By creating such a customised programme as this, we intend to broaden our appeal to a wider audience, and most importantly, have our Chinese guests experience enriching moments in Europe with the added comfort of their first language, incorporated with the best and most highly regarded features of the renowned Trafalgar English speaking program.’

Trafalgar’s Mandarin series are built on the strength and success of the English speaking programs:

Real Insiders - Their network of local characters, from chefs and artisans to historians, farmers and even taxi drivers will open up your enrichment and appreciation of your destination in ways you’ve never imagined. You’ll eat with them, drink with them and listen to their stories.

Real Choice - They offer more destinations and more types of holiday than any other guided travel operator. You’ll find a range of travel styles to suit, whether you want to explore a particular region in-depth, or experience the sights at a more relaxed pace. Plus, there’s always an element of free time and flexibility built-in. And for those without plans, there are planned trips and excellent high value Optional Experiences.

Real Ease - We take away the hassle that can be associated with travel. You’ll be a VIP: enjoy exclusive access to selected sights, avoid queues at major attractions, benefit from seamless check-in and check-out at each hotel, and luggage porterage right to your room and back on the luxury coach each day, and stay in carefully selected hotels. After almost 70 years of crafting amazing holidays, Trafalgar offer guests more choice than ever. These experiences are designed to take travellers deeper into a destination, and discover the heart of its culture. These are all included in the Trafalgar Mandarin programme:

Be My Guest - One of our experiences is dining with local people in their homes, where you’ll enjoy lively conversation, home-cooked meals and insights into their way of life. For example, enjoy a rustic lunch with a local family at a vineyard in the heart of Provence amongst the landscape of the lavender fields.

Hand-Picked Accommodation – Stay in a variety of 4 to 5 star hotels, with established names such as the Marriot, Hilton, Radisson Blu and Crown Plaza. Others will be independent properties with their own unique flavour. Our hotels also bring something special to your trip; whether it’s centrally located, in the midst of a stunning countryside, or close to a major historic site.

Cultural Insights - We share unexpected stories and hidden treasures, designed to offer you a deeper, more unusual view of local culture. For example, in Rome, visit the Bramante staircase inside Vatican City, a part of the building that is closed off to the public but is an exclusive feature only to guests of Trafalgar.

Local Specialists -
The best way to get to know a place is to get to know its people. That’s why we introduce you to local historians, artists and craftspeople, who’ll happily share their stories and skills for your entertainment. In Interlaken, learn about the local wood carving art with a demonstration by an expert.

Travel Director’s - Our Travel Directors are carefully selected for their knowledge and enthusiasm, and for the Mandarin programme, they are of Chinese origin but have lived in Europe for a number of years. They are bilingual in Mandarin, English and the local language and are well versed in the local history, knowledge and culture of the area they take our guests to. They are also very familiar with the cultural norms and needs of Chinese travellers.

Highlight Meals - Guests will enjoy local cuisine in all the destinations they visit, but combined with the flair of Asian fare. Chinese guests will experience a variety of Asian cuisine ranging from Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese as their selections every evening. As an example, for the Welcome Dinner Reception in London, we take our guests to the Royal China restaurant. Not only do we want to ensure that we are catering to the needs of our Chinese travellers, but we also want to provide them with top quality Asian meals at well-known or well received establishments as part of their Trafalgar experience.
