Wazzup Pilipinas Original Short Stories Series: The Girl Has a Gun

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Chandria agreed on having a secret relationship with Relexys, even though Relexys already has a new girlfriend because Chandria still like him. Same as Relexys, there might be a chance that he still likes her but chose to dump her because she might need something from Gayle. What kind of ex-boyfriend with a new girl decided to have a secret relationship with her ex-girlfriend? They still do have feelings for each other but circumstances interfered, that’s the reason.

Before Chandria became an agent, she was shy and uncomfortable with many things around her. Every time she kills a target she doesn't shed a tear not only because she is trained but also because she is angry with herself that she was not brave enough before, that is why many unfortunate things happened to her. As an agent she should be aware of all the moves her target will do so that she won’t fail the mission like the mother who tried to secretly reach for the knife.

When she saw the mother’s child, it was said that she showed no sympathy toward the kid because if she did, she might forget the traits of an agent and her old traits will come back. And she doesn’t want the old shy and weak Chandria. She only thinks that the kid doesn’t deserve to lose her mother like that because back then, her parents were killed and she was left under her grandmother’s care.

Chandria’s rude attitude toward Ed tells that Ed isn’t a very kind or nice person. As their boss, Ed needs to push his agents to things they don’t want to do. Maybe every time Chandria says she give up, Ed is always there to say “No. You can’t”.

When Chandria found out that they will have their next mission in her hometown, Ed mentioned that she always wanted to go back home. Maybe Chandria hasn’t completely recovered with the fact that she was taken away from her grandma and friends and that she will always tell Ed “I quit. I wanna go back home”.

Relexys, his name slips out of her tongue maybe because he was the last person she saw before she became an agent or maybe she still has feelings for him and that she wanted them to be together again.

Below is our short story for the day.

“I should get back inside” Relexys tells me “Gayle is probably looking for me..” My stomach knots painfully at this, and it once again felt like I had been used. This was always the thing with me and Relexys, we would have a great time together but he always has to leave and go back to her.

I untangled myself from him and he frowns then look at me apologetically realising that he had upset me. “Better go, don’t want her getting worried” I say, and turn to walk away. He grabs my wrist and spins me back around to face him. “Chandria don’t be like that, you know she’s my girlf-“ “Don’t even use the girlfriend excuse, because if you really care for her you won’t cheat her with me!” I almost yell, feeling tears began to sting my eyes.

“Please don’t be mad at me.” He pleads, placing a hand on my cheeks and staring at me with his gorgeous black eyes that almost cave me in. “Stay.” I said. He looks taken back at what I said but I wasn’t going to go back now. “Don’t go back to her, stay here… with me”

After what seemed like an eternity, he finally spoke. “I can’t” he whispers, and I felt like I had just been punched in the stomach. Tears began to roll down my cheeks but I still manage to nod and smile at him while he look at me pleading for me not to be angry like he wants me to understand.

I understand completely. I understood that he still chose Gayle over me. Gayle who has everything you wanted, fame, money, looks, etc. “Bye Relexys” and without another glance I turn my heel and walk away. All of the happy memories we shared since the very first time I met him until the day he chose to break up with me and dated Gayle came rushing into my mind.

The first half of my walk home I almost sprinted, wanting to get as far away from him as I could. The boy who I cared for more than anything in the world right now would rather be with a vain whore than me, and realising that the only reason he paid any attention to me at all was because he really did only one thing.

That was something to sure as hell ruin your night.

I was too busy wallowing in my own self pity that I had only just noticed the black van pulling up next to the pavement that I was walking on. I quickened the pace of my steps, realising that a creepy black van in the middle of the night parking next to you while there are no houses or any other form of life to hear your screams is not exactly the best thing to happen.

I heard the van door opened. I didn’t turn around as I walk faster, my heart beginning to pound from fear. “Chandria Manuel?” a man’s voice called out and I froze. The boy was around 18, he had black hair that was short at the sides, but long enough to spike up at the top. His face was muscular, and his black long sleeved top which was tight enough to show some very well built muscles. Overall, he looks hot.

“H-how do you know my name?” I stuttered. Run you idiot, don’t make small talk!

“I know a lot about you” he told me.

“Who are you?”

“My name is Drake” he said “And you Chandria, have just been recruited.”

I didn’t know exactly what ‘recruited’ meant, but I sure as hell didn’t stick around to find out. I turned my heel and took off running, trying to lose this psycho behind me. I heard him chuckle and began running after me.

I swore to myself if I made it out of this alive, I will go to the gym. Before I knew it, he had caught up with me and tackled me to the floor. He was trying to restrain my fleeting arms trying to fight him. “GET OFF ME! GRANDMA HELP ME!” I screamed. I would make sure to break his nose before I go down.

“Calm down, I’m not going to hurt you!” he almost yell. This stranger who pinned me down to the floor was not going to hurt me. “RAAAPE!!” I screamed again, trying to get the attention of anyone who might hear me. “I’m not going to rape you. Just stop struggling!”

I stopped struggling, much to his surprise judging by the look on his face. He smiled triumphantly “See that wasn’t so hard was—“ he never finished the sentence because I instantly kicked his special jewel with all the force I had. His face scrunched up in agony.

I quickly pushed him off and got to my feet, running away from him. I could see my house. As I was feet away from it, I suddenly felt an arm wrap around my waist and pull me back. The scream that was about to escape to alert my aunt was muffled by a hand clasping over my mouth. I realised that in his hand was a cloth with Chloroform.

I was going to die?

I suddenly did not have the energy to struggle anymore as the scent of the Chloroform filled my nostrils. Blackness taking over me. “I was wondering why you were chosen to be recruited. The kick to the balls definitely answered my question” I heard Drake’s voice in a distance.

My eyelids became heavier, and the last thing I saw before I completely blacked out was our front door, showing me just how close I was to safety.

The quote ‘so close yet so far’ really appeared to my mind right now.

My eyes began to flutter open as I woke up from the deepest sleep I think I’ve ever had in my life. When I looked around and saw the unfamiliar room. I shot up on the bed, scanning my eyes around the room.

The events of last night came rushing back to me as I took in my current surroundings, and I forgot how to breathe. Oh my gosh! I’ve been kidnapped! That boy who chased me then drugged me and locked me in a cell. I was going to die!

My panicking rant was quickly cut as the metal door of my cell opened, making a loud noise. I automatically pushed myself towards the wall so my back was pressing against it and away from the boy who just walked into the room. I looked at him, my eyes obviously glistening in fear.

It was the boy who kidnapped me.

I flinched slightly as he raised his hand, thinking he was going to hit me. Instead, he held out his hand which was holding a plate with two pieces of toast on it. I stared at the plate in disbelief, then back up at him. He was still smiling down at me. He looked way to friendly to be a kidnapper.

“I haven’t poisoned it, we’ve got a long day ahead. You better eat something” he told me, pushing the plate towards me. Again I stared at him in disbelief. “No thanks?” he asked. I had to stop myself from flipping him off, realising that its probably best not to enrage the crazy kidnapper.

“Thanks” I said quietly. “If you don’t eat that, my feelings will be hurt. I made it myself” he was still grinning at me, and I looked at him like he was a freak. He had just abducted me, and now he was grinning?

“Where the hell am I?” I finally snapped. “You’re at The Agency: he told me simply. “Agency? What like? Prostitution?” I asked, my stomach knotting in disgust at the thought of being sold for sex but he just burst out laughing. He stopped laughing slightly, but his body is still shaking “I told you last night you have been recruited by a firm called The Agency”

“I know this isn’t the thing to be thinking about, but the firm is called ‘The Agency’?” I scoff. He furrows his brows, humour clear in his face, “I mean, it’s not very creative is it. You could have gone for something a little more imaginative.”

A smile is playing on his lips right now as his face turns extremely amused. He nods, still smiling. “I’ll let them know you don’t like the name shall I?” he asks sarcastically. “What do you suggest we call it? ‘kills on wheels’? or ‘gun for fun’?” he suggests laughing.

My eyes widened at his words. “Kill?” I said. Did he really just use the words kill and gun?! “The agency is a firm of assassins” he answered. I feel my heart begin to beat frantically. “You’re a killer?” I asked.

His eyes grow cold at my words. “I kill people, but only ones that have it coming. People who break the law and put lives in danger.” He tells me, like he has said those so many times. “And you’re going to be one of us. Are you willing to join?”

All the bad memories of my life starting from the death of my parents up to the night where I asked Relexys to stay with me came flashing through my mind. “Yes. I am.” I answered him.

“Eat your toast. We still need to inform your hometown about your fake death”

3 years later…

I picked one of the many files in the table and placed it on my lap, flicking through it and seeing just what our little friend is up to. The current target’s name is Cara Deil; she’s a 34 year old divorcee who lives in a bungalow with her 7 year old son. I was currently in her kitchen, just waiting for her to make an appearance so I can finish this mission right away.

The target was a scientist. She uses her skills and knowledge about science at work, but in her spare time she likes to experiment in making bombs which she sells to the highest bidder. Getting into her house was way too easy. For a scientist who is meant to be a genius, she sure is stupid when it comes to locking her front door. She was in the house, I could hear her moving around upstairs. I heard footsteps approaching the kitchen. I kept my eyes on the files in front of me.

From the corner of my eye, I saw a woman walking into the kitchen and froze at the spot as soon as she saw me. “You should really start using a computer to store your work.” I tell her. I look up at her “Paper is so last year.”

I see her eyes glisten in fear. She glances up the stairs, it’s like she was checking that no one was coming down. “W-who are you?” she stutters.

“Does it really matter?” I ask her. “It’s not like you knowing my name will change anything anyway” She moves against the counter toward the utensils. I notice her eyes glance at the knives, and I laugh. “Look, take what you want but please just don’t hurt me.” She pleads.

I walk around the table to get near her. She was petrified, and I smiled at her.

“I’m not a burglar; I have much more class than that.” I state. “Then what do you want?!” she almost yells. “Ahh, well what I want is world peace” I see her hand move quickly and grab one of the knives from the holder. I grab her arm and slam her wrist onto the edge of the counter so she drops the knife. I raise my knee into her stomach and she let out a cry of pain from the impact.

“Please- I have a family… I’ll do anything” she pleads. I sigh, fed up now. I let go of her and she falls to the floor still sobbing uncontrollably. I reach behind my back and pull out my Walther p99 pistol. I aimed the gun at her and her eyes widened in horror “Please! Please don’t do this!” she cried. “You have only yourself to blame missy” and with that, I pulled the trigger. The loud bang muffled her last scream, before she slump backwards onto the floor.

Blood was pouring out of the hole in her forehead, and her eyes were open looking up at the ceiling.

Target eliminated.

I grabbed the files and ready to leave. The evidence left behind is for the police to deal with. Not that they will ever find out what happened to her because The Agency owns the police, using it to our advantage to cover the mysterious ways all these criminals end up dead suddenly. To be honest if the police did their jobs properly in the first place, us agents wouldn’t be needed.

As I make my way to the front door to leave. I froze as I spotted a young boy. This must be the target’s son. That’s why she kept glancing to make sure no one was coming downstairs. I stared at the boy, “Where’s mommy?” he asked, his voice small and shaky. He looks so innocent, clueless about what his mother had been up to. I knew he didn’t deserve to have a mother like that, and I also knew he didn’t deserve to have his mother taken away from him like this.

Yet even though I knew all of these things, I felt nothing. No sympathy for him or guilt that I had just killed his mother. I finally spoke “Mommy’s dead, kid” his eyes widen at my words and started to cry, and even now I felt absolutely nothing. I turned my back to the mourning boy and walk out of the target’s house.

At the end of the day, that’s all that woman was. She wasn’t a mother, or a good woman who was just trying to make a living for her child.

She was just a target.

From: Ed, The Agency

Message: Get in the office ASAP. New file has come in, new job for the both of you.

“Sorry to call you this early” Ed, the head of The Agency said as we walked into his office. “No you’re not.” I stated sitting on the chair. He shrugged, saying I was right. Drake sat next to me, not getting comfortable as I was.

He handed us a file and began reading through the information. “A drug lord has been growing and distributing their stuff all over a nearby town.” Ed explained. “They’re not your average drug lords.” “What do you mean?” Drake asked.

“Their dealers are stationed all over the town. They are recruiting teachers, doctors, police, and shop assistants etc. to sell the merchandise. I mean people can go into a freaking Starbucks and walk out with an ounce of coke. Teachers are selling their students a bag of weed in the middle of Biology.”

I was stunned. I have never heard of an entire town that had drug dealers stationed in every normal environment you could think of. Ed continued explaining “The drug lord is a powerful man. The people who want these drugs are aware of who he is and what he is capable of. The witnesses of these deals keep their mouth shut and they don’t end up getting killed. And police are no uses since a good percent of them are on it.”

“Does this mean we need to go on a wipe out mission?” I asked and Ed nods as an answer. “And even though you will be both be on this job, Chandria you will be in charge of it.” I look at him in confusion “Why?”

“Because we need someone who knows the town in and out. You’re the one that does that, therefore you have a good insight on where everything is as well as the locals” he explains, his eyes glittering in amusement like he knows something we don’t.

I nod in understanding, flicking through the file again “Fair enough. So where is this job then?” As soon as the words escape my mouth, I find the page of the file where the location is stated. My mouth falls open a little and my breathing gets caught in my throat.

Mill Valley, California

“You’re taking a trip back home Chandria. Just like you always wanted to. Only this time when you go back you’ll have a gun and be killing a few dealers and a drug lord.” I didn’t know what to react because the only thing that came into my mind is…

“Relexys”

  1. I love the story and the cliffhanger, but I suppose the cliffhanger was just too sudden I guess? There aren't much that happened in the story and I guess you could say that the cliffhanger was just uncalled for. I can tell that the story is going to be great though, if you finished it so keep up the good work! Great plot!
