Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) launched two new vehicles and showcased two concept cars to the delight of the media and car enthusiasts who assembled at the 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) at World Trade Center, Pasay City.

Focused on giving more people the joy of mobility, Honda unveiled the All New Brio (hatchback) and Brio Amaze (sedan) as its entries to the small car segment in the Philippines. While relatively the most affordable cars in Honda’s vehicle line-up, the Brio models proudly embody high levels of Honda DQR – durability, quality and reliability.

“These cars were specifically developed to match the evolving needs of our customers,” said HCPI’s President and General Manager, Toshio Kuwahara at the launch event. The Brio’s compact build and sporty interiors make it an ideal car for people who live a young and active lifestyle, while the Brio Amaze, relatively longer than its hatchback counterpart, has spacious and elegant interior for the comfort and enjoyment of its passengers who may include young families who are always on the go.

The Brio and Brio Amaze are reflections of the superior technology and innovation that have defined Honda’s more advanced models – two of which also took center stage during the event: the Team MUGEN SF13 #16 and the Honda NSX Concept. Both exhibited in the Philippines for the first time ever, the Team MUGEN SF13 #16 is the 2013 winner of Japan’s Super Formula Championship, while the Honda NSX Concept is a super sports model which features the next-generation direct-injected V6 engine mounted on a lightweight vehicle body in a mid-ship layout as well as a highly-efficient and high-output SPORT HYBRID SH-AWD® (Super Handling - All Wheel Drive™) hybrid system, which realizes both outstanding driving performance and fuel economy. Moreover, the NSX CONCEPT realizes low and wide with the dynamic and alluring proportions as well as an interior design developed under the concept of a "Human Support Cockpit," offering excellent visibility and an exotic driving position.

Guests at the 5th PIMS had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of their dream Honda cars through an all-day test drive facilitated by Honda on site. Aside from the Brio and Brio Amaze, motorists also got to try out the All-New City and the All-New Jazz, All-New Accord – all of which were launched in the first half of this year.

And though the Honda NSX concept car was purely for display, motoring fans still got to experience the feel of this car through a simulated high-intensity race using a state-of-the-art gaming console.

Other activities are offered to the visitors that allowed them to share the joy of mobility with others are photo booth and a fun coloring activity that encouraged kids to visualize and express their dream ride while their parents took the opportunity to check on the Honda cars on display.

“Racing, sports cars and small cars – these are all in pursuit of delivering more and more joy to our customers. This is a continuing journey of joy for Honda and we hope that you will also be on this same road with us,” said Kuwahara.

  1. Limit media exposure.
Constantly watching news coverage of a tragedy can heighten anxiety. Limit your child's exposure to violence on TV and in the news. When older children watch or read news reports, try to do it with them. When violence is in the news, ask what your child knows or has heard so you can correct misperceptions.
