That Endless Summer

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Palm trees, ocean breeze, salty air, and sun kissed hair, new friends, new adventures and more fun. Splash! I just took a load off from that stressful school year but if I am not in school where am I? I am in the beautiful season of summer where I can sleep in, go to the pool, and I don’t have to worry about homework!

Summer 2014 for me is very unusual compare to the other summer vacations I’ve had. Right after classes ended, the day after that, we went to Mangatarem, Pangasinan to attend a wedding ceremony. It was a unique wedding because of the marine officers who made a grand entrance for the bride. Also, during the reception, I met a lot of cousins for the first time in my life! It was nice meeting them though. I’ve got to experience swimming in a beach without paying anything, oh wow that’s just great because swimming for free!! Before we left Pangasinan, we had a seafood boodle fight for lunch.

After a few days, some relatives from the province visited us and we took them to Mansion Garden Hotel in Subic. There are many places to stay in Subic, and this is probably one of the cleanest, best options. It was a wonderful stay for me and my family and relatives, they really enjoyed the ambiance of the pool, and the water is warm and perfect for a hot weather!

Also, this summer, I enrolled at AHEAD for the UPCAT review together with Kaye and Daniella. I was really anticipating that review classes because I’ll get to meet new friends the same age as us. Unexpectedly, we made many friends compared to the others who took the review classes. Funny that we were also be able to befriend our proctor as well since she is just a fresh college graduate. I am happy that I made the right choice to enroll at AHEAD because the teachers who taught us somehow bolstered our confidence and fighting spirit that we will pass the UPCAT or any other CETs. During our last day, I was really sad that there will be no review classes anymore and that there will be less chance to hang out with our new friends. That is why before we parted ways we watched a horror movie and played at Tom’s World. But I’m still hoping we will still be able to hang out, despite our hectic schedules this school year.

Before the summer came to an end, we had our last summer getaway at All Hands Beach in Subic. This time we didn’t checked in at any hotels since we just planned to go for a swim. One thing that we enjoyed at this resort is the water activities they offer. At first, my siblings and I are willing to try banana boat, kayaking and parasailing but because of the banana boat we were not able to try parasailing. We should have made a decision to put banana boating as the last agenda. I am suggesting those adventurous people who haven't tried banana boat to try it! For me, it was more frightening than riding a roller coaster! When the sun started to set, we were all ready to go back home, but not yet ready to put summer into an end.

Summer is the best season for me because I don’t have to worry about school and that I can just relax and enjoy while it lasts. Summer 2014 is one of the best and memorable summers I’ve ever had. I just really wish it didn’t have to come to an end. But I am thankful that I had a great summer and that I’ll face the reality together with the memories I made last summer. Until summer 2015!
