Lamudi Philippines App Launch: Buy, Rent or Sell Real Estate on the Go

Nowadays, almost everyone rely on their smartphone to keep themselves updated and informed. Looking at how things are going right now, it will be no surprise when after a few more years, online media will be the only option fast, convenient and reliable enough to refer to. With the ever-growing popularity of smartphones already becoming a necessity among many people, it is a wise decision to incorporate almost everything on a mobile platform including the way we do business.

To meet the growing demand for mobile internet services in the emerging markets, Lamudi Philippines has recently launched an app that would allow house-hunters to buy, rent or sell real estate using an Android phone - the dominant mobile platform worldwide capturing more than 60 percent of the local mobile market.

Launched in 2013, Lamudi is a global property portal focusing exclusively on emerging markets. The fast-growing platform is currently available in 28 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, with 400,000 real estate listings across its global network. The leading real estate marketplace offers sellers, buyers, landlords and renters a secure and easy-to-use platform to find or list properties online.

Held at the Croque Cafe and + Bakery in Makati last June 20, 2014, the app named Lamudi: Real Estate for Sale and Rent was introduced to selected members of the media by Jacqueline van den Ende, Managing Director of Lamudi Philippines. It's technical features was further discussed by Benedict Plaza, Lamudi Philippines' resident tech expert.

The app hosts more than 400,000 property listings from Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa. The app covers 28 countries from Lamudi’s global network - including the Philippines - giving international house-hunters a free mobile platform to buy, rent or sell real estate on an Android device.

The launch of Lamudi’s Android app follows the successful roll out of the company’s iOS app in four countries last week. The iOS app is currently available in Pakistan, Mexico, Colombia and Morocco, with more countries from the Lamudi network to be added soon.

The Fastest Growing Real Estate Platform in the Philippines

Both the Android and iOS apps have customized search functions, allowing users to easily filter results by country. A key feature of the app is the match alert function, which notifies users as soon as a property that suits their needs hits the market. Users can also create a list of favorites to bookmark properties, which can be accessed at any time and on any device.

All listings feature high-quality photo galleries, detailed property information, maps, and multiple contact details for property owners or agents. House-hunters can also share their favorite properties with family and friends via Facebook, Twitter or email.

Instacase was a great sponsor for the Lamudi app launch since it complements the app that are installed in our mobile phones, which as mentioned above, are mostly Android-based being the most popular as compared to iOS.

Lamudi’s Co-Founder and Managing Director, Antonius Salis, said: “Android is the future of the smartphone market not just in the Philippines, but worldwide. For this reason, we have focused on rolling out the Android app to Lamudi’s 28 countries to reach the maximum number of users with our unique property platform.

The Lamudi app is a world first because of the sheer number of countries it covers in the emerging markets. So whether you are looking to invest in property in Manila, buy a high-rise apartment in Jakarta or rent a villa in Jeddah, the Lamudi Android app helps you find your perfect property match.”

The leading real estate classifieds website in the Philippines is also expanding its operations to Visayas and Mindanao due to the growing real estate market in the country. In March, Lamudi picked Cebu city as the top livable city in their Asian portfolio, describing it as an “economic powerhouse.” It houses a number of malls, universities, tourist attractions, and affordable real estate properties. Meanwhile, Davao prides itself as the “Melting Pot of the Philippines” due to its fast growing population, tourism and business opportunities, as well as for its religious, cultural and language diversity.
