Swensen's Philippines Opens New Branch at The Block of SM North EDSA

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Our family has always been a fan of ice cream. Then again, who isn’t right? Living in a tropical country, it is almost a given that people here enjoy a bite of ice cream every now and then. However, there are only a few places here that sells quality ice cream. Thankfully, Swensen's came over and our problem of finding great ice cream has been solved.

My family and I enjoy going to Swensen's after dinner. It’s a great thing that they now have 3 branches. One is in Mall of Asia, the other is in Eastwood, and the newest one is located in SM North The Block which just opened recently and was formally launched last May 14, 2014. They have everything covered from the South to the North.

My son’s personal favorite is the Strawberry Sundae Parfait. He love the glass that they use. You see he’s very particular about presentation and the glass used for parfait. He feel that if its the wrong one, the experience is diminished if not broken. He also loves that they ensure that the banana is always fresh. It matters. No one wants a soggy banana on their sundae.

Swensen's Banana Split

My siblings on the other hand love the Banana Split. Growing up reading Archie Comics and Sweet Valley can influence you that way since the Americans in this series treat the banana split as something special. For me, its a banana split in half topped with 3 scoops of ice cream.

Swensen's Hurricane
My mother on the other hand likes the Hurricane. 5 scoops to perhaps represent the 5 of us, its a mix of different flavours that are all distinct but can be mixed into one great flavor. She actually finished the entire thing all by herself.

Me and the Nutty Chocolate Parfait

My all time favourite though is the Nutty Chocolate Parfait. I love my ice cream with marshmallows, nuts, and lots of chocolate. You can say I’m nuts about chocolate.

Truly, it was an awesome night thanks to Swensen's. You never fail to make everything better simply with your ice cream.

From their website: "The first Swensen's Ice Cream Store opened at the corner of Union & Hyde in San Francisco in 1948, and a new American Icon was born. Founder Earle Swensen knew he could succeed if he gave his customers three things... quality, quantity, and value for their money. His recipes called for using only the finest ingredients and exacting ice cream making techniques. By good old fashioned trial and error, Earle Swensen developed a perfect blend to ensure that Swensen's customers would get the maximum taste from each and every flavor.

But the key to lasting success is keeping up with the times. Over the years Swensen's has recognized that America is changing the way it indulges itself as more and more folks are becoming conscious of their diets and modifying their lifestyles accordingly. We felt that shouldn't have to mean sacrificing the fun of eating Swensen's Ice Cream, so we developed a whole line of lifestyle products that still give our customers all the delicious taste they've come to expect at Swensen's. So, if you have a special dietary concern such as fat and cholesterol, we think we've got a product just for you. Just ask your server for an information pamphlet.

And don't forget to stop by our take home counter and pick up a hand packed pint or quart of your favorite Swensen's Ice Cream. It's the perfect treat for an enjoyable evening at home."
