The Healthier Road : Staying Away From Fattening Foods

Everybody loves eating, especially if your favorite food is the one served on the table. During the holidays, a lot of people gain weight because of the delicious food prepared during Noche Buena and Mega Noche. But what makes our food tasty and delicious?

We consume a lot of fattening foods each day yet we don’t find ways to keep ourselves healthy and active. Because of this we don’t experience only physical problems like getting fat, we also get heart problems, high blood pressure and diabetes.

It’s time to choose the healthier road. We must avoid eating fattening foods. We can still enjoy our favorite foods but with not as much fat, calories and sugar. We don’t have to stop eating fatty foods since they give us energy, we should just control the amount that we eat.






I know this amazing restaurant that serves delicious and healthy foods. This restaurant is located near our school also in Tiendesitas and Metrowalk. Dr. Tam’s VeganHaus is a restaurant that prepares the usual Filipino dishes with a twist, their main ingredients are vegetables. No Meat. They serve pastas, ice cream, pastries, fresh fruit juices, and viands (Caldereta, Adobo, Chicken Curry, etc.). These foods have less sugar, fat, and cholesterol. We visit this restaurant at least five times a month if we have time. Their food is delicious, healthy and very affordable.

Staying away from fattening foods doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the delicious foods, it’s just finding healthier substitutes that can still satisfy your taste buds.

Well, everyone loves food anyway right? especially when our favorite foods, cravings and new to our taste buds are served on the table but the thing is eating is not that bad unless you consume a lot more that what is necessary that's why we gain our not-so ideal weight. So the solution with this is having or being active on physical activities/ exercises which can maintain our own figure so we can be free to eat foods that we want to but we should also have our limits. This year 2014 is technically another year for "new year's resolution" and one of mine is to reduce weight from what I have gained to the past season and just some of "NO" to temptations I mean food to be exact would help me to to accomplish this. Hopefully I will! :)

  2. Who are we to say no to those mouthwatering foods? I actually agree with you that we should start this year being healthy. But I know many would have a hard time doing this. Count me in. Hahaha. :)

  3. Thank you for this article. I finally found a place where I can eat my favorite foods without consuming too much fat, calories, and sugar. I thought eating less is the only way to lose weight.. but this article is the solution. I can eat as much as I want, without worrying what would I become when I leave the restaurant.

  4. For a person like me, I'd be better of eating fattening foods to bulk myself up. but, the freshest and healthiest types of food are the typical plant-parts; veggies, fruits and root crops. I'd not argue about its essence to the human health, but I'd rather eat something I find delicious.. :))

  5. Eating is one of the solutions of the students to relieve their stress because of school works. Sometimes, because of so much strain to the students, they tend not to notice about the food they eat. Like for example, I will not be able to study well unless I have a food beside my table. I usually eat sweets and fatty food. But fortunately, my body doesn’t gain too much weight unlike the other students and I think it’s a blessing for me. Yet, thanks to this article and to this restaurant. These will give help to the students like me about having a good health at the same time having good grades. ☺

  6. Nowadays we are experiencing a lot of health problems. As a teen I need to cope up with different kinds harsh criticism because of my weight. This kind of article really helps me to think many times about foods that I' am eating. I actually don't care about food that I eat as long as I satisfy my cravings, and as a result I really gained weight and it makes it so difficult for me. So, let us be meticulous and be health conscious since we are prone to different diseases like diabetes, heart attack, hypertension etc. even though we are still young. If we are always eating fatty foods we are contributing to the build up of our visceral fats (fat that covers our internal organs) which exercise can't burn because we can only lessen it by proper diet and nutrition :D

  7. I've seen this restaurant before and it's near to our school. It's so nice to hear that people build restaurants that can contribute to the health of their customers. It is built not just to satisfy their customers but they also check that what their customers are eating are healthy. It also encourages all of us to have a proper diet and be conscious of our health.

I like the article because it gives information to the readers and also encourage them to choose a healthier lifestyle which is definitely beneficial to each and everyone of us.I know that all of us want to be fit because sometimes, as what was mentioned in the article, we don't just get fat but we might also acquire diseases such as high blood pressure, heart problems and of course diabetes. Also, if a person is fat, sometimes it serves as a hindrance for them to do what they want to do like for example they want to try an activity but due to their body built and weight, they won't be allowed or be able to accomplish or reach their desires. Because of the presented article, the said restaurant will surely be a blast since the author was able to catch the attention of the readers by saying that in this restaurant, you can eat delicious foods with less cholesterol, fat and sugar which will probably help people to take a healthier road.
