Stories : Hear. Listen. Understand. Share Your Stories and Win a Trip for Two to Zoocobia and Zoobic Safari!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What started out as the thesis of a group of BS Business Management students under the social entrepreneurship track,  TriboCo. Kultura Kamp continued their operations even after they graduated last March this year. These youth are now committed to operate as an independent social enterprise.

Through cultural camps they encourage three things among their participants and partners: to embark, embrace and to empower.

Embark - to immerse among the indigenous groups and experience their way of life.

Embrace - to foster a sense of kinship with our indigenous brothers and sisters to understand, accept, and develop deep respect for their culture and way of life.

Empower - to empower both the indigenous people and the participants.

All this is ultimately geared towards the fight against ethnocentrism - the tendency to believe that one's ethnic or cultural group is centrally important, and that all other groups are measured in relation to one's own.

Contest announcement below :

Globe Goes Google

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Globe Telecom will start using Google business solutions and tools that will empower employees of the Philippine telecommunications company to serve its customers better.

“This collaboration will help build the capability of our people and transform the way we work to deliver superior customer experience,” said Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu.

According to Cu, Globe Telecom’s collaboration with Google will provide the company with flexibility to deliver more for its customers by enhancing mobility of close to 6,000 Globe employees, supportive of a 24-7 service.

“The decision to go Google will change the way we work as the new tools and applications will give our employees greater freedom to connect and collaborate anytime, anywhere, using any device. We believe that a collaborative workforce enhances employee engagement which, in turn, will delight our customers,” he emphasized.

Renewable Energy Through Solar Lantern Distribution

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Globe Telecom reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability by promoting the benefits of using renewable energy among its partner communities in far-flung places which are deprived of electricity.

Globe, together with Stiftung Solarenergie Philippines, is spearheading a solar lantern distribution program in Batangas, Davao, and Benguet. The said provinces are part of the Community of Practice (CoP) strategy of Globe which brings together various advocacies and initiatives of the company in areas of environment, good governance, social services, entrepreneurship, and volunteerism.

“We employ a wholistic approach in the communities that we serve that is why we provide them with the tools to make their lives better. In this case, we decided on distributing solar lamps so that the people could avoid using coal and kerosene which are hazardous to their health and environment. More importantly, it is expected that the use of solar lamps will generate significant household savings which they can use for more productive undertakings,” said Fernando Esguerra, OIC, Globe Corporate Social Responsibility.

Japanese Food -: Love it or Hate it?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Hi everyone! My name is Mary Rose, a third year student of Pasig City Science High school. By the way I wrote this article to tell you about my first experience in eating Japanese food? How about you, what do you know about Japanese food? Have you ever tried eating it?  If you want to know about my first experience in eating Japanese food, then just scroll down and read, I hope it can give you an insight what Japanese food tastes. By the way you can give your comments, negative comments are accepted.

When I learned that the assigned topic for me this quarter is Japanese food, I felt excited and nervous at the same time; excited because this is my first time I will taste Japanese food and nervous because the food I will eat is raw. The next day, I went to Sta. Lucia Mall to buy Japanese food. I bought Japanese food to a sushi bar named "Batosai".
When I saw the Japanese food displayed I looked at them with awe, because they look very delicious and the way the food was presented was very beautiful. While looking at the Japanese food, I had a little problem because it is very hard to choose among the choices displayed. In the end I bought a complete set of Japanese food. The set I bought has California maki, sushi and sashimi. By the way if you're curious how much is a complete set of Japanese food, it costs 185 pesos.

DOT, DSWD, and USAID Launch One-Step Project

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has inked a partnership with the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held last 5 August 2013.

The convergence program, called The One-Step Project, seeks to improve the lives of the poor with more direct interventions through tourism. The One-Step Project is a step to include the poor at the start of the development process and integrate communities, including but not limited to the beneficiaries of DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (Pantawid), in the tourism value chain.

Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. said the project aims to alleviate poverty by improving the “reach” and “power” of our people and to be given opportunities to succeed. “The eradication of poverty begins with the restoration of trust in leadership,” the tourism chief added.

The One-Step Project taps the potential of the 13 million poor Filipinos and the 2.1 million Pantawid households in nine priority tourism clusters. It aims to identify the poor households with greater propensity for success, particularly those living in the tourism clusters that host more than 21 million domestic and foreign tourists, and enroll them in tourism enterprises either as part of a destination community or a supplier community.

I didn't anticipate this cover. She's always the cover of Cosmo. Even the pose she did here is same as the pose Isabelle Daza did in another magazine. She has a resemblance to her in fact. What's so bold and new with her? Her black leather issue with another magazine a few months back was way bolder and newer than this. Nothing fresh to expect.

FYI, Kathryn Bernardo, his love team partner and real life sweetheart (is it confirmed?) also has a solo cover on Preview Magazine August 2013 issue.

It seems there's really no stopping the popularity of the two teen heart throbs. Fans adore them so much that they can't get enough of the two couples. Maybe there would be a magazine cover featuring the two of them soon - or was there one already? Well, I've seen some with other stars sharing the cover but I yet to see one that has only the two of them.

Shared Stories : Hear. Listen. Understand

Wazzup Pilipinas!

“Shared Stories: Hear. Listen. Understand.”
(a campaign against against Ethnocentrism) on August 9, 2013 -- the international day of the world's indigenous peoples.

The event is a celebration of stories using different media. They will have acoustic performances by independent artists, poetry/letter reading and photo exhibit centered on the theme of telling your stories or sharing your back story. In the same way that you get to know a person and understand them fully only when you have learned about their stories, they believe that it is through hearing and understanding the stories of the indigenous people here in the Philippines that they can begin to appreciate and respect how truly unique and beautiful their culture is.

After all the stories shared through music or reading, the program shall culminate with the launch of the video that tells the stories of the people they met in their communities. This is in the hopes of driving their message that ending descrimination starts with understanding; and listening to the stories of our indigenous brothers and sisters is a small step towards understanding towards ending ethnocentrism.

This is brought to you by TriboCo. Kultura Kamp.

Chito Miranda and Neri Naig Video : Leaked by Own Son?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This has yet to be confirmed! But it's all over social media already and people are asking if its real or just a deliberate fake designed to confused us with the issues. It may just be a hoax trying to make fun of the sex video scandal of Parokya Ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda and Star Circle's former talent Neri Naig.

Who's laughing? Well I'm not! I'm practically shocked that a son, his own flesh and blood, could have the guts and the hatred to shame his own father in public.

Has family values gone so bad already in the Philippines because of the advancement in liberal thinking? Has our youth become rebels and immature brats? or is Chito Miranda guilty of a crime that even his own son couldn't stomach?

Is Chito Miranda a victim or is he the real reason why the world has seen his shame? Karma perhaps?

Crowdsourcing Using Social Media

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It's great to hear that our politicians are now actively pusing for the use of social media to get feedbacks and suggestions form the common people. Social media is indeed a powerful medium where many elements for a successful implementation of new directives from the simple guidelines to the most complex laws could easily get the much needed consultation from the masses.

After all, the primary stakeholders are the people themselves so it is but natural to get their opinions, may it be harsh violent reactions, or calm and reserved feedbacks. I believe the making of plans, final decisions and everything else that mainly concerns the people should not be confined to the offices of our politicians whether lawmakers or implementers. It should be submitted for the approval of the majority.

It's just like the problem we are having right now with regards to the new traffic schemes being implemented by the MMDA and the local governments of Manila. The authorities should have put themselves in the shoes of the people and what the ordinary commuters and drivers will experience from the abrupt changes.

Yeah, we may have eased the traffic on our roads....but what's the point if the commuters just get stranded along nowhere and could not even get to their respective destinations. I would rather choose to suffer in a traffic jam (at least I'm seated comfortably) rather than finding my luck getting a ride along with thousands of irritated commuters all sweaty and dirty with smoke and dust. Some of us may even get "lucky" and get robbed by a pickpocket or a snatcher.

"

Not to mention you guys are seriously trying to enter that market right before Blizzard All Stars come out? I worry that you're going to get trounced. Riptide was great, you guys need to keep polishing that formula for next gen. I love what you guys do, but this change of pace is disconcerting.

Did some jackass potato in your team just said "YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA? A RETARDED-ASS ZOMBIE SPIN OFF MOBA GAME, WE MIGHT GET LOTS'A MONI OUT OF DIS" Seriously, I'm sick of MOBA games swarming the market.

Torque Droidz Drive Tablet Review

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I got a hold of a Torque Droidz Drive a few weeks ago and I've been tinkering with it ever since. Tried its features, especially the camera since I live in a world of selfies, instagrams and tweets. It's fun to see a chronological documentation of what you're doing (eating, watching, - practically everything) and accompanied by photos. It's fun looking back and reading about your past whereabouts and I can't stop myself from getting amazed by how creative my shots were.

The quality of the photos from the 2 mp camera still does not replace that of a real camera but the advantage of using tablets is you get to upload it real quick at the chance of a free wi-fi Internet connection. Unless you're using one of those cameras with an Android OS, but that's a different review.

The Torque Droidz Drive is one of the most affordable 7 inch phablet (phone and tablet) available in the Metro. The specifications are fair enough but considering the very low prize of Php 3,999, then that's a great deal you should not let pass.

Bazooka Rocks 2 at the SMX Convention Center

Bazooka Rocks! is the Philippines' first indoor rock festival that provides concert-goers the ultimate concert experience within a controlled, safe and perhaps most importantly an air-conditioned environment.

Let's face it, shelter from the rain and a potential muddy mosh pit and air-conditioning makes rocking out a helluva a lot more comfortable!

It's a totally unique experience in rock and roll and it's chalk full of the most wanted pop punk and hard rock sensations in the world!

The World of Toyota at the World Trade Center

Wazzup Pilipinas!

My very first car was a Toyota.

I chose Toyota as my first car so I won't have any problems in finding parts and repairing it. Why? Because it's the most popular and economical car in the country including its parts and accessories. Almost every mechanic also knows how to fix a Toyota. I guess it's the easiest car to fix and troubleshoot. I seldom have a problem with my Toyota and it has never given me headaches.

I learned to drive with  it, scratched and bumped it too many times, but it has never given up on me except for the air-conditioning. It even sank under the floods of Ondoy, but it still survived and ran beautifully after a few cleaning and overhauling. It's one tough wheeled machine.

Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfao at the Best of Anime 2013

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Now who doesn't know Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfao? You're probably from another planet if you haven't heard about the two famous sisters of cosplay.

I've known the two since way back my Level Up Games time as one of their IT guys who was always present in every Level Up Games event especially those that involve cosplayers. There is such a wonder seeing boys and girls, even grown men and women, donning costumes patterned after their favorite anime or game character.

The sisters were already famous back then and that was back in the year 2004. Level Up Games just had two Massive Multiplayer Oline Role Playing Game MMORPG (Ragnarok and Oz) back then.

Greenstallations : Outdoor Masterpieces In Nuvali

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Those fabulous art sculptures have been a feast to the eyes whenever I visit museums and attend art exhibits but it is a shame that these masterpieces could only be viewed inside establishments with most of them with a fee.

Most individuals belonging to the majority of our society would not bother spending even a single peso to get in a museum because their priorities would be to get pass through their daily needs of food, clothing and shelter. It is not like the "load" in your mobile phones which is also now becoming a necessity for us to keep connected and well informed.

That is why I admire those establishments that have art sculptures displayed in front of their buildings and offices. Some would even pay great amounts just to have a piece of art decorate their property. These works of art are a fascinating window to the imagination of the artists and each and everyone of us could have our own vivid interpretations of their works. But everyone all get the satisfaction of appreciating the beauty.

Nuvali, Ayala Land’s 2,290 hectare integrated eco-community in the holds a month-long program this August called Greenstallations that aims to celebrate and promote sustainable way of living through art. Owing to its commitment to economic, social and environmental sustainability, NUVALI via Greenstallations sets out to promote a deeper appreciation for the arts through outdoor art installations.

Pateros Also Claims Jurisdiction Over Fort Bonifacio

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It seems the municipality of Pateros has joined the claim over Fort Bonifacio.

Well, that's what others thought. Actually, Pateros has since been fighting for the land in Taguig way back in the lates 1980s but the Supreme Court junked its bid in 2009. They refiled the case last year before the Taguig City Regional Trial Court Branch 271. It is probably getting special attention now after the Court of Appeals granted the Fort properties to Makati city.

Wikipedia describes Pateros as a small town in Metro Manila that is famous for its duck-raising industry and especially for producing balut, a Filipino delicacy that is boiled duck egg. Pateros is also known for the production of red salty eggs and "inutak", a local rice cake. Moreover, the town is known for manufacturing of "alfombra", a locally-made footwear with a carpet-like fabric on its top surface. Pateros is bordered by Pasig City to the north, Makati City to the west, and Taguig City to the south.

Thomas Van Beersum : An Open Letter to Policeman Joselito Sevilla

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Here's an open letter of Thomas Van Beersum, the foreigner who got deported and declared Persona non-Grata? (that's what I heard) for getting involved in a riot and bullying of a local policeman here in the Philippines.

Van Beersum made headlines after a photo showing him shouting at PO1 Joselito Sevilla went viral on social networking sites. He was in the country to attend the International Conference on Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines. He was photographed taunting the policeman who later broke down into tears at the rally’s dispersal line. The Dutch activist said he attended the SONA protest because he had been "outraged by the human rights violations committed by the corrupt Aquino regime."

I think Thomas van Beersum was an easy and convenient target by the government and the conniving media because he is young, a foreigner and a "Communist"? Talk about an emotional mob that can easily be swayed from the real issues like increasing poverty and human rights violation. Simply give them a crying cop.

How about you? Who's side are you in?

SM Olongapo Elevator Attendant Gets Recognition

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"The cheerful and dedicated elevator operator from SM Olongapo, Cheridel Alejandrino, visited SM Supermalls' Head Office today and was given recognition for exemplary customer service by SCMC President, Annie S. Garcia (3rd from left) and VP for Operations, Bien Mateo (2nd from right). Joining them are (L-R): Jerry Arenas, Rheybie Nipas and Junias Eusebio of SM"

Kudos to SM Supermalls for recognizing the exemplary efforts of their elevator attendant from SM Olongapo. It may not be as big as the CNN Hero award but to be recognized for even a small accomplishment is already very honorable especially for our fellowmen belonging to the rank and file position.

I'm sure Cheridel is really very proud of himself right now.

Stranded! : Commuters Cry Out to MMDA

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) new scheme to ease traffic in the Metro has caused a lot of commuters to cry out in frustration as many got themselves in a very unpleasant scenario. Many were stressed and confused, and some of them even got robbed by snatchers.

A great number of commuters from Cavite were stranded and delayed for work or school on the first day of the enforcement of the ban for provincial buses coming from Cavite. The provincial buses were no longer allowed from entering the metropolis and passengers needed to transfer to new means of transportation for Manila.

The situation was really "chaotic." A commuter has even said that the MMDA people should have tried commuting first so that they understand the situation of the carless masses. The MMDA should have at least consulted the commuters regarding this new traffic scheme.

Solenn Heusaff Releases New Single “Diva”; Receives Platinum Award For First Album

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Clearly, there is no stopping the multi-hyphenate Solenn Heussaff from being one of the most in-demand celebrities in local showbiz. From commercial endorsements, TV shows, movies, she dabbles again with one of her facets, music, via a new single “Diva” off her upcoming sophomore album “SOS.”

“Diva” features one of the country’s promising hiphop artist Ron Henley, whose YouTube videos like “Biglang Liko” have reached more than 13 million views. The song, composed by Ferdie Marquez and produced by Francis Guevarra, talks about divas who consider themselves more important than others and those who are demanding and fussy. Solenn relates to the song as she had encountered some “divas” especially in showbiz.

Sababa! Beyond Faith ... Israel as a Destination : Israelly Swell in Israel!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Her Excellency ASec Petronila Garcia, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Middle East and African Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), was the guest of honor and keynote speaker during the Sababa! Beyond Faith ...Israel as a Destination event brought to us by the Israel government, specifically organized by the Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and TraveLife, one of Southeast Asia's leading travel and lifestyle magazines.

The event would like to put emphasis on the fact that Israel could also be more than just a pilgrimage site. Israel has many wonderful attractions that could very well make it a preferred tourist choice. Aside from being one of the safest place to visit, it also boasts of having no Visa requirements for the people of the Philippines.

Everyone was convinced that it Israelly swell in Israel!

The First Ever Charity Pub Crawl

Wazzup Pilipinas!

If you have yet to try out Manila Pub Crawl then you are missing half of your life. Does bar hopping through 5 bars and meeting new people sound fun to you? If that is the case then MPC is perfect for your tastes. I tried out the Charity Pub Crawl where all profit would go to the Philippine Red Cross. The meeting place was Central BBQ Bar and Grill near Cash and Carry and I ended up arriving too early. I guess that is what happens when you are too excited for an event. There were actually numerous events happening on that day including a friend's wedding and the opening of a Mercato branch at Pampanga.

I was so glad I chose the Charity Pub Crawl because it was so much fun. This is actually the 2nd time I attended a Manila Pub Crawl. The founder Oliver Kollner started it at Boracay as the Boracay Pub Crawl and it attracts an average of 90 people per day.

Captains Abbi, Chix and Chai handled the enormous crowd pretty well. In fact, I think we had close to 50 attendees for the night. We stayed at the Central BBQ Bar and Grill for a little photo booth shooting. I acted as the photographer which got me nervous since my camera is still new and it was my first time handling a photo booth.

Manila Dev Challenge 2013 Announces Winners

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It is not very often that I get to be in a room filled with geniuses!, and they happen to be part of the world where I live and breath. The IT industry has continued to become so cool and elite mostly because of the rockstar developers that are totally changing, and practically dictating, the way we live in this interconnected and online society.

Triple Webby award-winner Freelancer.com was able to gather the best bunch of smart guys and gals in a room together while having a bit of fun fueled by pizza, coffee and cola. The Manila Dev Challenge, that was held a few days ago at SaDoCe located at the Smart Tower in Makati, definitely attracted a lot of great minds.

From the many hopefuls who submitted their works online, there were just 40 finalists who competed for the final rounds. The surviving finalists, who undertook six grueling hours of nonstop coding, maybe first timers in a coding competition, but they were already in the Startups and IT professional industry for quite some time now.

Pinoy Taste of TV Programs : Konti Lang Bang Brains ang Kailangan at Sasaya Ka Na?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I've read somewhere that the country’s leading and largest multimedia conglomerate, remained on top of the ratings game in July with more Filipinos tuning in to its programs with a total day audience share of 42%.....

But to what extent?.... by feeding us with lengthy afternoon-until-evening tele-dramas, old school superstitions and far-flung barrio beliefs, local versions of foreign reality and talent shows tweaked to the Pinoy taste, sensationalized tabloid news composed of street gang rumbles and vehicular accidents, commercials and ads in disguise of business and entrepreneurship shows, pseudo-science crap that they don't bother to explore any scientific basis, poorly Tagalog-dubbed Korean, or whatever, tele-dramas that loss its magic after being converted into a "Tagalized" joke , and a lot of other so-called madlang people "entertainment" filled with conyos and Fil-Am "ingliseros" that's only making us insecure of our height, the color of our skin and our carabao english.

It is sad to say that these shows were all designed for the no-brainer and "mabababaw ang kaligayahan". They don't exactly teach you but only "tease". What is worst is that many of us were already brainwashed and, with very little argument, has readily accepted these inferior and low-quality TV programs.

Kuya Paolo Pingo : Smile Ka Din, Konti Lang

Wazzup Pilipinas!

McDonalds' latest commercial has gained popularity, both positive and negative, and I'm not talking about the previous Minions toy craze collectables found on every happy Meal, or even the Smurfs 2 collectable toys that they followed next (but not as cute as the Minions toys).

What I'm really referring to is Kuya Paolo Pingo - yeah ....that character that depicted a somewhat.... himself.... which caught the attention of many viewers as to how to react appropriately to the commercial. From being sexist II meant to say racist - aftershock of that Chito Miranda video scandal) to "getting sympathy or pity from the mass audience", there has been a lot said about the new TVC of McDonalds.

But it was for me touching indeed. Heartwarming to say the least. Well, the intention was to indeed create a discussion among the people who will watch it for the first time, and share the experience among friends and colleagues - by tapping onto the subconsciously "good" personality of people.

Out from that commercial came memes (as with other popular topics online).... In majority, these memes were not designed for the purpose of attacking the commercial or even the lead characters portraying the roles of brothers.

It was endearing and oh so cute as many tried to create their own version of giving out just the right "Konti Lang" smile!

Court of Appeals Has Declared The Fort as Part of Makati City

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"The Court of Appeals has declared portions of Fort Bonifacio, including the upscale locale of Bonifacio Global City, all in all a total of 729 hectare, as being part of Makati City and not Taguig City.

This sort of ends a 20-year legal battle that started during congressional debates over Makati’s cityhood.

The CA’s Sixth Division ordered the Taguig City government to “cease and desist” from exercising jurisdiction over several areas within Fort Bonifacio, which were earlier declared part of its territory.

I'm sure this decision will be tried and tested in the Supreme Court - the last resort by means of law.

Also, Makati taxes are higher than Taguig. This might have some implications for those who are situated in the Fort.

Anne Curtis and Martin Nievera Sings Without You

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Anne Curtis and Martin Nievera impressed a lot of followers recently as we bear witness to an interesting music video collaboration between the two popular celebrities.

We all know that Martin Nievera is no doubt a master in singing but Anne Curtis is still more appropriately called "Annebisyosa" for a reason.

But this music video is making a lot of people think twice now that we saw a much improved It's Showtime host doing even a rap segment in the video....sent shivers down my spine.... but I finally was able to catch my breath when she successfully ended it beautifully. Are we going to see more rapping from Anne soon?

All I can say is that it was AnneMazing! The arrangement was awesome. I really loved it. The project was good for both Martin Nievera and Anne Curtis. It was indeed a nice tandem and collaboration. Kudos to the people responsible in bringing the two together in a sensational duet.

Nancy Binay Proposing a Bill Against Internet Memes

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Whoah!I'm not sure if she wants to impress (being a newbie and all) or she wants to molest to get back on her detractors when she was running for a Senate seat, but this newly elected Senator is probably after the same people who made Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto's days like a living hell when the Senator was bombarded with criticisms of many forms. One of them was with a great number of memes all making a laughing stock out of the politician.

Memes, according to Wikipedia is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture." A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures. Meanwhile, the Oxford Dictionaries, are humorous images, videos, or pieces of text that are copied and spread rapidly by Internet users.

Newly-elected Senator Nancy Binay’s proposed bill amending Republic Act 9262 may contain provisions aimed to criminalize humorous internet memes.

Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones : Engaged!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I've read from Cosmopolitan Magazine facebook page, as well as other online media outfits out there, and of course many social media accounts, are now also spreading some good news about celebrities getting engaged just very recently.

"Sorry, ladies! Jericho Rosales is off the market! The actor is now engaged to host Kim Jones".

That moment of a sudden pinch in your heart wishing it was you. Hahaha! But then, t'was such a joy seeing couples conquering love's challenge for eternity.

Jericho revealed the engagement via mobile photo sharing service Instagram:
“I love you, Miss Jones. You are the love of my life. Thank you for saying YES (to forever) to me. Happy birthday! God is amazing! Yeeeeeehaaa! We are #engaged !!!” he said.

Kim on the other hand took to micro-blogging site Twitter to announce the engagement.

Chito Miranda and Neri Naig Video : Hindi Na Natuto or Ano Ba Ang Pakialam Ninyo?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Finally someone says something worth saying about the Chito Miranda : "You private videos and ridicule the people in it, thinking you're better than them. Mahiya ka naman."

Oo nga naman. It's none of our business, they didn't do this on purpose, and they're not hurting anyone. Why should they be made a mockery of by hypocritical moralists? Sila ba, hindi nagse-s*x? Ever? Kaya ba ganun na lang ang bitterness sa mga taong may s*x life?

Some would comment that they didn't have to videotape the act. For some, that's what's more disturbing, not the act itself. Especially for the people involved because they're celebrities, hindi na natuto sa mga naging scandals before. They would say that these personalities always think it wont happen to them, but if the material is there, it most probably will.....and in this case...it did!

Carlo Rossi : Life Gets Better with Rossi Sweet Red

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Living a life that gets better every day is about knowing one's passions and priorities. Each morning that we wake up is an opportunity to create and collect special memories that will be remembered and will stand the test of time.

The stories that we collect every second of our lives, coupled with our experiences, are what we share with family and friends. We enjoy reminiscing past experiences and sharing personal events that they have not witnessed. These chit-chats allow us to reconnect and enable our loved ones to always become part of our lives.

Times meant for reconnecting, reminiscing, and sharing are best experienced over good food and fine wine. But since such occasion calls for something calming and laid back, it is suggested to have a wine that's not so heavy and can be consumed in a cool way.

“Whenever we have conversations with friends, it is always nice to stay alert and focused. That's how we can foster better relationships – through active listening. And there's a perfect wine for such kind of gathering, something that sweet, red and Carlo Rossi,” says Von de Torres, Managing Director of Emperador Distillers.

Student Activism : Asserting The Right to Fight for What is Right ...the Leftist Way?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What are your thoughts on student political activism in schools, universities and colleges? Both in public and private schools. Like Anakbayan, Akbayan, etc party lists calling on students to, "Stand up for your rights."

What do you call those students asserting their legal rights? Student activism? or Student deactivism? What about those who exploit their rights and those who are preventing their rights? Activism is not limited to popular demonstrators always rallying along Mendiola. Stereotype.

Yeah, in our school they're defacing walls and other facades and giving themselves high fives over it. Yeah, no problem with students asserting their rights. Question is, are those political parties recruiting members among students using their plight as an initiator to join them?

Short term: If you really are that sad in life and you want to blame government or big business - let it out.

Long term: That's a line you would likely omit from your CV's when you apply for a job.

Causes of Rape : Slutty Clothing, Mind-Altering Substances, or Socio-Cultural Influence?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We should take note that no amount of slutty clothing, mind-altering substance, or socio-cultural influence should place blame on the rape victim. Rape is ALWAYS the rapist's fault. Erase your bias. Spread the word!

Sometimes, I don't get why pervs always place the blame on such factors: provocative clothing, their being drunk, and call of flesh. Why not to themselves? If skimpy clothing is the cause of rape, then why do I still hear of men raping women in cultures where they wear full-body clothes? Burkha fetish, anyone? I don't think rape occurs in nudist colonies. but then again I might be wrong.

During primitive communal when people are nomadic, there is no cloth, no alcohol, no tv, no minority, weather is present. Sex is a normal practice. with consent. No marriage either. So don't blame it to things... blame it to the system!

Grab Taxi Mobile App for Fast and Safe Taxi Hailing

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Have you guys seen taxi cabs deployed with GPS-enabled mobile here in Metro Manila? There's even a small number of taxi cabs in Cebu that has those setup which was said to have been issued by a certain telecom company. Apparently, the gadgets are used for GPS-roving-mapping purposes.

There is also a World Bank funded study where they are conducting an ongoing transit app competition. They are trying to map traffic now so we know how to fix it fast and easy.

GrabTaxi, EasyTaxi, TaxiHero,....there's so many taxi startups but so litlle time. It wont be long now before every taxi driver will be equipped with a GPS-enabled smartphone and taxi app.

Well, the only app I've tried so far was GrabTaxi, originally MyTeksi from Malaysia, and it was an awesome piece of app.
