How To Really Travel the World

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This travel adventure we call life is what we make of it. No matter how dedicated we are, sometimes we will be tempted to change our plans and veer away from the proposed path to admire the view, touch the trees, taste the food, or take the most photos. Whatever the reason, we all deserve to decide how and when we will get to our destination.

It wouldn't also be realistic enough if it were all smooth sailing, if there were no potholes on the road, if there were no storm clouds to slow us down. Even a train gets derailed. Even a space shuttle has limitations to its reach. We will therefore sometimes get delayed, miss our ride, or worst....never reach our destination. It's a universal truth.

Just because we fumbled, slipped or tripped once, or twice, or thrice,...doesn't mean we're gonna suck at everything forever. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in ourselves, because if we don't, then who will?

Traveling companions... some come, some go. The ones that stay with us through everything even when supplies gone thin, the rains go down hard, and the winds blow like crazy - they're our true best friends. We should not let go of them....and be thankful that the selfish ones that abandoned us earlier in the trip revealed they were not willing to carry the weight with us. We are better off without the people who were only with us because they thought our backpacks were full.

When we find ourselves lost, the people who taught us how to read the compass or the map are better than the ones who just told us to Google for directions. Life, no matter how science and technology has revolutionized it, should not always be spent online. We have to go out sometimes and inhale the fresh air especially when the Internet is down and the power goes out.

So always keep your head high, your chin up, and your gear ready. Keep on trekking, but do realize that life is more like a beautiful tour. With the Lord as our guide, we will surely reach our real destination, but he has revealed to us that what matters most is not how fast we finished the tour, but on how much we have learned from it.

Life happens so fat that we sometimes neglect to appreciate the most important things in life. What they are will depend on what really makes us smile.

  1. "Life happens so fast that we sometimes neglect to appreciate the most important things in life." I guess it's not only the important things but rather those small things that happens to us without us fully knowing.
