Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Confirms Monlighting as Taxi Driver at Night

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte confirmed that he sometimes drives a taxi to personally monitor the situation in the city. He added that his passengers get to ride the taxi for free." - ABS-CBNNews.com
We've been to Davao several times already and it amazed us how the Duterte clan can make Davao clean, smoke free, crime rate so low, and safe for tourist to roam around even at wee hours of the night. he people are so friendly and best of all, the taxi drivers don't take advantage of the tourists.

Wow, just shows how good the guy is - 4th safest in the world is in the Philippines. He does what our society needs - political will and punishes crime - that's why he is effective. I hope Duterte runs for President in 2016. Davao is one of the safest, disciplined cities in the country. He could make it also possible for the entire country.

I love this mayor!! I believe in his principles!! If only all city mayors can be half of this man, then our country would draw more tourist and transients and our city would surely be marked in the map too as a place to be!

Moving around Davao is a blissful walk - You feel safe. What if after you eat durian (bought immediately after they just arrived for distrbution) at the boulevard and then you hailed a cab, with Mayor Duterte driving it? Then that's double bliss! I would gladly have him sign my shirt even how expensive it may be.

That's the way to go! Mayor Duterte, if you are reading this, I am personally proud of your creative ways to study, maintain and fortify your division. (I must say, office at the park, is a new way to showcase TRANSPARENCY). The next time I am in Davao City, is there a toll free number to call when you are driving the taxi? ...Of course I will feel safer with you on the wheel. Kudos and God bless!

What if the PDAF corrupted senators and congressmen get to ride his taxi? Will they enjoy the ride?

What Duterte is doing in Davao is a strong hand policy. Usually you do not need that policy. You just have to STRICTLY ENFORCE the law and the people just have to FOLLOW.

Manila Mayor President Joseph "Erap" Estrada is doing it now and succeeding. The people are grudgingly following. Why can't that be done elsewhere?
