Cafe Maquiling of Los Banos, Laguna : One of eLBi's Famed Restaurants

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Wow! Adobong Manok!

This is one of the dishes that we had for lunch on our visit to Los Banos, Laguna immediately right after attending a plant tour at Gardenia, and before going to a presscon for members of the press for the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit.

The core team of the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit composed of Grace Bondad Nicolas, Pepi De Leon, Yami Uytingco Calamba, Dianne Salonga, Ivan Saldajeno and Ross Del Rosario (that's me) sort of made some "pit stops" for lunch and merienda on our way to the scheduled afternoon presscon for some invited members of the media.

Lunch was served at Cafe Maquiling restaurant which was owned by former Board Member Neil Andrew Nocon.

The restaurant served also served us some Crispy Fish Fillet, and Ampalaya with Egg.

Based from their menu, Cafe Maquiling has set meals for only around Php 100 which makes the meals quite affordable.

I also have no quarrel over the taste. I really do not know if I was really hungry that time or the dishes were really good. Our team member Ivan, who arrived late for lunch (we were almost finished eating), practically ate everything up that was left to him.

Aside from the Adobong Manok, we also tried their crispy Fish Fillet, and some Ampalaya (Bitter Gourd) with Egg.

We had some ice tea for our drinks, plus bananas for our dessert.

Let's take a quick look at the interiors of the place. You will see that it's homey and projects an aura of a traditional Filipino home with simple furniture and a few Filipino heritage heirlooms like the "salakot", "sumbreros", old framed photographs of Los Banos establishments, and a carabao horn.

The core members of the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit organizing committee were treated to lunch by Cafe Maquiling by its owner, one of the very active supporters of the Laguna Blogging Summit since last year.

The Laguna Blogging Summit is a gathering of blogging and social media experts who have collaborated to bring you an event where the attendees can learn valuable information related to social media and its varying influence, usage and benefits.

The theme this year is Social Revolutionist, a theme appropriate for what's happening today where people are not only using Social Media to promote their products or services or just to hook up with their friends, they are also using it for political campaigns, advocacies and even finding a job. Social Media revolution is happening and we can see people gathering like-minded individuals to form a group with same beliefs with the use of Social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

The event is also being held to promote tourism in the province of Laguna  so people will recognize Laguna as a place that embraces Information Technology and social media.
Attendees will be a mix of students and professors, professional and amateur bloggers, social media enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and business owners, government employees, etc.

Cafe Maquiling is located at the 2nd Floor of Anest Tower at Lopez Avenue, Brgy. Batong Malaki, Los Baños, Laguna.
