Berzelius and The Events to Remember

Wazzup Pilipinas!

During Filipino month celebration, Pasig City Science High School held an event; called ‘Pistang Pinoy.’ It is one of the most awaited events in our school. This event shows the festive theme of our country. Each section, from freshman to senior, designed their room and prepared some Filipino foods for the ‘Natatanging Pamilyang Filipino’ title.

But before that said event, the school have different competition for all students in connection to the Filipino month. Just like, balagtasan, talumpatian, likhang awit, basag lines, maunawang pagbasa and etc. Each contest has different competitors.

We used to support our own representatives. We pray first at the interfaith room, for God’s assistance. And when it’s already the contest, we sometimes asked time to the subject teacher in-charged just to watch their performance.

Unfortunately we lose on some contests and its okay; at least we try our best and enjoyed it. But our Balagtasan representatives; Leira, Julius and Cherry, made it to the top. They were the champion! Even though we’re not the one who did it, the feels of being a champion suddenly goes to ours. And we are so proud of them.

Back to Pistang Pinoy, it was our last celebration. That’s why we exert some effort on designing the room. The room was divided in different corners, in which somebody there is doing ‘harana’, while others are dancing, playing Filipino games, just like that. And when the judge came, he was accepted warmly by us. After judging, we eat the food that we prepared like Bicol express, Pininyahang Manok, Laing and more Filipino delicacies. Aside from that, the sixth batch had some games at the hallway and there’s an ice cream given for everyone.

That day was really a great blast especially when we were announced as the champion for ‘Natatanging Pamilyang Filipino’ in the fourth year category.

Aside from this event, we have this Aerodance competition in which we have won. We were ranked as the Champion and then followed by Lewis and Copernicus. Each section prepared a great choreography and good choice of music remixes. We’re so happy and close to tears when we heard our section in the awarding. Because we know in our hearts that our efforts were not wasted. And I believe that success happens once you believe and if you just enjoy what you doing. Thanks for our beloved adviser and teachers!
