Tokyo Tower: Japan's Own Eiffel Tower

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There are many beautiful places in Japan. Some examples are Mount Fuji, Himeji Castle, Kamakura, Matsumoto Castle and many more.

From all the beautiful places in Japan, the Tokyo Tower is my favorite. The Tokyo Tower is the second tallest artificial structure in Japan (I'm not really sure what's the tallest tower in Japan). It is approximately 333 meters (1,093 feet) in height before the antenna was damaged by the Tohoku earthquake in 2011. The height of the tower shrank to approximately 315 meters when the antenna was repaired.

It is located in Shiba Park, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It is said that the construction of the Tokyo Tower started in 1957 and was completed in 1958. One of the things why I like Tokyo Tower the best is because that it looks like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Tokyo Tower is white and orange in color.

Tokyo Tower has two main functions. One is for broadcasting. It was said that the tower's main purpose was really for broadcasting television. But now, the tower now broadcasts analog television, digital television, radio and digital radio. Another function of the tower is for tourism. What makes the Tokyo Tower attractive? I think it is because of it's great features: FootTown and Observation Decks.

FootTown is located at the base of Tokyo Tower. It is a four-storey building. I have read on the internet that the third floor in FootTown holds a record in the Guinness World Records. It is because of a museum that houses life-size figures.

The Observation deck of the Tokyo Tower is wonderful. It provides you a 360 degree view of Tokyo! Can you just imagine that? You can even see Mount Fuji in the observation deck.

Another thing why I like to visit Tokyo Tower is because of its two mascots. They are named Noppon. They are two brothers: Older and Younger Brother. The Older Brother wears blue dungarees (dungarees are trousers or an overall that is made form denim fabric) while the Younger Brother wears red dungarees. They were born on December 23, 1998 to celebrate Tokyo Tower's 40th anniversary.

Tokyo Tower, is just one out of the many beautiful places in Japan.
