Hestia : The Virgin Goddess

The honored, first born of the Olympian gods, Greek goddess Hestia is also called the last born because her father swallowed his children and then regurgitated them in reverse order.

Intrigued by the title? lol. When I was on my junior year, our history teacher told us the story behind every Olympian god or goddess, Hestia here, though she was courted by Poseidon and Apollon, Hestia chose to remain a virgin.

Though t'was okay, because I, myself, don't wanna have an affair with my brother or any relative, but who cares, they are gods and goddesses!

I've always adore her because of her peacefulness, she don't want to have any wars, there was a time that according to the myth, Dionysus was the only one of the twelve Olympians to be born from a mortal woman, Semele.

Dionysus was a god, who was born twice. According to the myth about Dionysus, Hestia was an Olympian, but she stepped down in favour of Dionysus, to avoid any conflict among the gods and goddesses.

  1. Hi Lois! I agree with you. Hestia indeed is someone to be awed because of her humbleness.By the way, your article is very easy to comprehend. And it's not that long that it won't bore your readers. Nice job.
