Saint's Alp Tea House : Taiwanese Food and Blended Teas to Perfection

Wazzup Pilipinas !

So when they said we  were going to a "tea house" , I put out a grin and thought we were going to another one of those milk tea shops that has proliferated in the Metro.

Though I really love drinking those milk teas, the thought of opening a shop just to cater to one product sorts of doesn't really kick in as worthwhile to me. Haven't they heard of "nakaka-sawa" or "nakaka-umay"?

But thank the heavens above that it wasn't really just a milk tea house (thus the picture of the yummy Tempura Salad above), but it's a Taiwanese restaurant that also serves some tasty dishes that could become one of your favorites.

Craving for some Taiwanese Food and Blended Teas? Head on over to Saint's Alp Tea House!

We discovered that the wi-fi access at the place was high-speed. I guess the owners really considered it to be a hang-out for those who wish to remain connected or online. It's a great combination to  be able to dine on great food and drinks while surfing the Internet, checking your e-mails or keeping in touch in Facebook or Twitter.

The branch at BGC was not that big, but very neat and exquisite-looking. I appreciate the tranquility that the place exudes. It's quite relaxing to dine in a serene place, with less rush and no worries at all. We had dinner at the branch, so there was really not too many people around. I am not so sure how it is during the day time, but since its location is nowhere near the busy streets, I am assuming its quite the same during the early hours.

Have you seen their unusual logo that was bears a striking resemblance to a foot? But it really is a foot with some symbols written all over. The origin of the logo came out from the first owners of the restaurant when it it started in 994, being the first Taiwanese tea place in Hong Kong, the owners wanted to “make their mark” so like footprints in the sand, they choose a foot print as their logo. But there was a another story floating around but more recognized as a folklore. It tells of a story of a monk who imprinted his foot on a mountain, thus the chosen symbolism.

Saint's Alp Tea House serve tea in different ways - hot, cold, with or without milk, and ice blended and says they use only quality loose leaf tea that is brewed at a certain temperature for a set amount of time. They also have several choices for pearls : aloe vera, tapioca pearls, nata de coco, citron agar, matcha agar, coffee agar aka coffee jelly.

Have you tried their addicting and refreshing Blueberry Double Chocolate Ice Blended Sorbie? It's sensational!

Oolong tea is also available at all Saint's Alp branches! You can have it Iced, With honey or With milk! Did you know that loose leaf oolong tea is full-bodied with a sweet aroma and is low in caffeine, one cup of oolong tea has 10-15% of the caffeine in a cup of coffee? Healthier than drinking coffee!

Who says beef is the only thing best for burgers? The Burger Chops from their sandwich series was so good even for me who is not really a fan of pork. The combination of breaded pork chop, cheddar cheese, and lettuce topped with their special burger chop sauce was really good!

What caught my attention, and taste buds, at Saint's Alp Tea House are the toasts. You have several choices which includes Matcha, Blueberry Jam, Condensed Milk, Peanut Butter, and what they call Half & Half, where you get to choose two flavors for your toast. This was the first meal that disappeared from our sight. Everyone adored the flavor and even the aroma of the food.

The Chicken Breast and Loff Spareribs where the best tasting of all the dishes (next toi the Matcha toast) served to us. I appreciated the tenderness of the meat and the flavors that really sunk in to the meat. Perfect as is or with rice combo.

I enjoyed the hearty Taiwanese Marinated Minced Pork Noodle Soup - with egg! The taste was just right for me, not too salty, not too oily. Best when served hot. The problem with being a foodie is that you need to take a photo first before you dine, but it doesn't really hurt to take just one sip out of this delicious soup.

The Tempura Cheese Balls was a kicker! The saying that you can't judge a book by its cover is really applicable for this meal. The foursome bits looked really plain and simple, but the taste made up for its simplicity.

Cozy up your afternoons with a good book and a pot of saint's Apl Tea House's Hot Milk Teas or Coffees.

The Chicken Paprika Sandwich was something new for me both in appearance and taste. Though I appreciated the chicken meat along with the dressing and toppings, I kind of disliked the bread that came with it. It could have been better if a different bread was used.

To sum up our dining experience at Saint's Alp Tea House, I would say that majority of the food and drinks were exceptionally satisfactory, but as with all restaurants that we have been to, there's always room for improvement on the other dishes, especially on the choice of ingredients like with the bread used for the Chicken Paprika Sandwich. But for the rest of the dishes, they were all superb in taste and amount of serving.

  3. Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared
to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider worries that they plainly don't know about.

You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing
without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will
probably be back to get more. Thanks

  7. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and
tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube
sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views.

  9. Howdy! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using
for this site? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers
and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform.
I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
