Rose Manila : Saying Goodbye to the First Floating Japanese Restaurant

ROSE Manila was closed down before the end of the year. They have loved being part of so many happy occasions in the last 14 months, and the last night of service last December 21 would be a night to remember. This is a tribute to a great restaurant that has bid farewell recently.

ROSE was a dynamic, fun, and unusual Japanese restaurant located in Manila's Fort Bonifacio district.

Their cuisine was unique, based on the Japanese philosophy of using natural flavors enhanced by classic French cooking techniques.

A sense of whimsy was created by carving a stream into their granite sushi bar and fresh fare is literally floated from the kitchen aboard model boats. Guests also have the option to order from the menu.

They had several choices in their menu and a few more creations keep coming out as days went by. Their chef is an ingenious master that caters to the appetite of Japanese cuisine lovers.

Fill it all and improve your health at ROSE!

"Japanese staples that are amazing for your health include antioxidant-rich yams and green tea; cruciferous, calcium-rich veggies like spinach; iodine-rich seaweed (good for your thyroid); omega-3-rich seafood; shiitake mushrooms (a source of iron, potassium, zinc, copper, and folate); and whole-soy foods." -CNN Healthy Dining out Guide 2012

Lunch specials every week were offered to provide unique experience on a weekly basis.

They search each day for the freshest, best-quality items for our menu. This often means late night pickups, when the new seafood arrives.

This means sumptious food for everyone. Many were delighted with the colorful and presentation of the food as it arrives on their tables. Not only was their stomachs satisfied, even the sight and smell of the food was enough to fill their every craving for a terrific feast.

A twist on a classic, Wild Norwegian Salmon with Avocado!

So this means... no more Adam's Ice Cream? Absolutely not! ADAM'S Ice Cream is moving operations to Ortigas, and will be bigger and better than ever next year!

ADAM'S Ice Cream is wonderful, but sometimes it is hard to choose just one from the 15 flavors available. That's why ROSE offered tasting portions of 3, 5, and 8 flavors! Life is sweet!

Examples of great ice cream flavors:

 -Green Tea KitKat-
Fine Japanese Matcha Tea is made smooth as silk, with chunks of Real Green Tea Kitkats!

-The Infanta’s Favorite-
Based on a classic Spanish custard, this rich mixture of hazelnuts and cream is easy to fall in love with!

-Don Ricardo’s Choice-
Beronia’s Mazuelo Reserva is so velvety and rich, we had to try it. Spanish Goat Cheese is a perfect accompaniment in this unusual creation.

Japanese KIT KATS! Great for take-away or with a scoop of ADAM'S Ice Cream! Now serving: GREEN TEA, BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE, STRAWBERRY, RASPBERRY, COOKIES & CREAM, VANILLA ICE - FOR A LIMITED TIME!

The ROSE Japanese Fried Rice was a comforting addition to our menu. Subtle, savory seasonings, roasted garlic, and Organic Vegetables from Baguio. You're lucky if you have tried the Vegetarian version, or the ones with Shrimp, Beef, Ginger Pork, or Chicken!

The favorite lunch of many customers at ROSE - Triple mushroom Miso Soup with Wild Norwegian Salmon. Despite the heat, a great comfort and satisfaction.

Great food demands great beverages. Their menu offered a diverse selection of premium sake, local and European beers, and fine Japanese whiskeys. ROSE was among the first in the Philippines to feature the highly addictive Zipang, a naturally sparkling sake from Kyoto.

Japanese micro-brew Hitachino were available at ROSE! Loved the mysterious WEIZEN, RGA - REAL GINGER ALE, or RED RICE BREW.

Olympic fever once has taken hold at Rose Manila. In honor of the 2012 London Games, ROSE featured one of Britain's best. It was great served best with their Tempura

ROSE was Manila's biggest seller of Zipang Sparkling Sake!

There was absolutely NO food coloring used at ROSE! Their pink rice were made with organic beet juice, which adds a very mild sweetness, as well as amino acids and vitamins!

Goodbye for now ROSE Manila. I'm sure we'll be seeing you again soon as nothing can really bring a great restaurant down. Here's hoping we see you again soon.

Meantime, we'll be rocking at Adam's Ice Cream soon in Ortigas!
