Pacquiao Loss : For Filipinos He's Still A Winner!

"We were with him when he was up, we're even more with him when he's down. We support you Manny!" ~ @VinceGolangco

"Now more than ever, we should rally behind Pacquiao and show him what he means to all Filipinos. Whatever he chooses to do, we should support his decision. For years, Pacquiao has been the symbol of Pinoy pride. That is something not even a loss to Marquez will ever take away. We are blessed that in our lifetime, a Manny Pacquiao came along and brought honor to our country in a way that nobody ever did before. Whether he is Catholic or a born-again Christian, Pacquiao will be immortalized as a legend in his own time".....THE DEAN

He is the first eight-division world champion, in which he has won ten world titles, as well as the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.

He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s (decade) by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Organization (WBO). He is also a three-time The Ring and BWAA "Fighter of the Year," winning the award in 2006, 2008 and 2009, and the Best Fighter ESPY Award in 2009 and 2011.

In May 2010, Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani.

Yeah I guess WE have a lot to be proud of him for!!!

Justin Bieber allegedly posted photos on his official Instagram account which many people thought was insensitive and makes fun of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao's defeat.

The first photo shows a little animated lion pasted on a photo of Pacquiao
while down at the boxing ring. The small lion seems to be waking Pacquiao. Justin added a caption to the photo with the words “Dad wake up.”

He also posted another photo of a knocked out Pacquiao, pasted on a photo of the late Michael Jackson while dancing the moonwalk. He added a caption saying “Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ .. Classic moment.”

"The problem with his posts on his Instagram is that they don't make a valid opinion but shows a lot of insensitivity. But let us NOT bully Justin, anyways he is just a baby, baby, baby ohh.

A little dose of his own medicine will do no harm.. but I agree NO to bullying, be creative in the words you tweet to Justin. Anyways, he is a baby, baby baby ohh!:)

Win or Lose - as Filipino we should be one. A loss in a match is not a loss of dignity. He only loss to a match with a lucky punch. But he did not loss his dignity because of that! PROUD AKO SA KATOTO KO! MABUHAY ANG GA FILIPINONG KAGAYA MO MANNY! Giving Glory and pride to the country.

KUDOS to you Manny or giving the very best to the Filipino People..You are the main reason why our Country THE PHILIPPINES been to the Map of BOXINg..For us you will always the winner, not only in winning but especially in losing..YOU’RE THE MAN.and one of the GREATEST Filipino have had..BLESS YOU and your Family.

  2. “He raised our flag. This time, let’s raise him.” A man cannot be always on the top; there will still come a time that he will come down, that he will accept defeat. I really felt zannen to Pacquiao’s loss. I know that he trained well, he really does his best in his fight. But this time, it is not his time to shine. It is okay for me though, I am still proud of him. Some takes his loss as an issue in his change of religion, but for me it is nonsense. The religion does not matter. Bieber’s post? Amarisuki janai. Bieber should not have posted that, it may look funny but yet it is still bullying and it shows disrespect. I think Pacquiao must focus on other fields considering his age, he is getting older and boxing is not that compatible to his age. I think it will be better if he will pursue another career. Pacquiao ha mada subete no firipin jin no tame no shousha desu! (Pacquiao is still a winner for every Filipino!)

  3. Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao has become the "Pinoy Pride" for us, Filipinos. We have been so proud of him every time he wins a fight. He brought the pride of our country because of his talented fists and smart strategies he used that may knock down his opponents. But now, that he loses a fight with Marquez, everyone became so sad and some of us turned out to be insulting Pacman just because he lose. Negative comments came pouring like rain. Even Justin Bieber posted a photo commenting something sensitive that made us angry.
Anyway, it's just a SINGLE fight. There's still so much time for Manny to practice more his strategies and become stronger than before. What we want for him now is not to be too stressed of what's currently happening because these things are just part of our life. We need to live and get through it.

  5. Manny Pacquiao still bears Filipino pride amidst his defeat. The important thing is, he played the game fair and square. Watashi wa Firipin hitodearu koto o hokori ni omoi (I am so proud to be a Filipino.).

  6. I agree that Manny Pacquiao is still a winner despite his recent loss. We Filipinos should be even proud of him because he has been carrying our flag in the field of boxing for a long time now, and we should not let this loss take that pride away. Life goes on. This single fight or Beiber's post should not affect the way we become proud of Manny.

Sugoi, Manny Pacquiao! We are still proud of you. Ganbare on your next fights!

  7. I was never a fan of boxing, 'cause I don't find it interesting. But I am still proud of Manny Pacquiao because he made the Philippines known. Honestly, his fame is no joke. Through him, our country's name is more known worldwide.

And this loss is nothing. If anything, it is a blessing for it will just encourage him more to do better. After all, failure is inevitable. We all go through it. I can just say that despite his loss, the Filipino race will still stand behind him. He is our brother, after all.

  8. Champions aren't made in Gym. Champions are people who made their dreams to come true. I am a proud Filipino. I know that Mr. Manny is a nice person. He doesn't need to prove anything because ha already had. The good thing is he has the skill, better is he has the will and the best is the will is stronger than the skill. :) God bless!

  9. Win or Lose, Manny Pacquiao is still the champion for us Filipinos. We shouldn't stop supporting him just because of a single loss. Nobody is perfect. We all fall down and lose some battles in our life. I am proud of him. Filipino Pride. Ganbare!

  10. Being a champion is not about winning it is about how a person faces problems and how it makes him a better person. Manny Pacquiao is a winner for all of us. He always makes us proud that we are Filipinos. We should not leave him for just a single defeat, we are with him in times of glory we should also be with him even though he did not win. We should not stop supporting him, he already proved many things to us. Nobody is perfect, everybody may experience being down but what important is we stand up and never give up.
About Justin's posts, we should not waste our time bashing him he is not important for out time let him do that well it will just return back to him in some other time.
I am proud of Manny. He is truly a Filipino Pride.

What a beautiful quote, right? The only way to go up, is to go down. It's not about winning the fight or taking that dollars or what. It's about, how Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao gave pride to our country, Philippines.
Evertime Pacman wins, we're very proud. We're like, "Ohh, si Manny? Taga-Pilipinas 'yan.", "Ayy si Manny, malapit sa amin yan nakatira". We're really proud. But now that Pacman did not win, some Filipinos are laughing at him. They're like, "Ay, natulog!". Something like that. Some people say that, it's the religion. No, it's not! Don't blame Manny's religion. It's just part of God's plan. And God knows what's best for him, and I know that God has much beautiful plan for him.

Manny! I am proud of you! Ganbare!

The extreme disappointment of most of us Filipinos upon Manny Pacquiao's loss is natural. That's because we are used to see him win for 15 consecutive fights. But in spite of that, Filipinos should be very proud of him considering his recognitions that made us known to all over the world. The world recognized the talent, skills, and abilities of Filipinos through him. Ii ne!
Every time Manny wins, all of us rejoice and feel so proud. The government always gives him a special Hero's Welcome, and I think it makes him feel so good. Now that he lost, we may not be as glad as we are every time he wins, but we should show him that we're still proud that he fought for us Filipinos.
And about Justin Bieber's posts, it seems that what he did was just something to catch attention. He thought that his fans and everyone would like and make fun of those pictures. And I think his fans here in the Philippines were a bit turned-off by what he did.
Go Justin, continue that and you'll lose your fans soon. XD

(Indeed, Manny Pacquiao serves as an icon for Filipino pride. For the past years, he has reminded us the meaning of our race and to be proud of it. And for that, I really think he does not deserve this kind of mockery. Some people may find it funny, but it's not appropriate. As a bigger person, I'll just ignore him. Manny's loss is but a speck of dust compared to what he has done to the Filipino people. We can clearly see that he lost his fight because of improper training not his religion. We must be proud of him and be proud that we are Filipinos.)

  14. Pacquiao lost. So what? How many times did he bring pride to our country? Many times! I think it's not proper to insult our idol just because he lost that time. Justin Bieber made a fatal mistake, insulting our Pacman. Did he know that many of his Filipino fans were hurt because they never thought their idol would bash Pacman like that?
I agree to the author. He may be a loser to the eyes of someone, but to Filipinos, he is still the winner and the best. Sugoi Pacman! Ganbare!

Manny Pacquiao = the Filipino people and the Philippines.

Everybody knows him -- Americans, Europeans, Asians, Africans. I can't think of any Filipino who had influenced and made a huge impact to the world like how Pacquiao did, not even our great national hero Jose Rizal and Nobel-Peace-Prize-deserving Corazon Aquino. He and his career are inspirational. His life is meaningful. He had helped many people in different ways. He never used anyone or stepped on anyone to be what he is now and to achieve his goals. We should all be proud of him. His loss is nothing compared to the pride and name he had given to our beloved country. He is a hero. (Although having a hero's welcome is just stupid.)

Boku wa Firipin hitodearu koto o hokori ni omoi! Ganbatte! :-)

  17. Even though Manny Pacquiao lost, he's still a champion. How many times did he win a fight and brought pride to us Filipinos? Yes, several times and this outnumbers the number of times he lost.
He inspired us with his boxing career to work harder, and also, because of his career, our country is now known worldwide.
Ignore the haters, as long as you're successful. (Though I'd like him to retire from his career now.)

  18. Upon reading the title, I can't help smiling. This is one of the most amazing attitudes of the Filipinos -- we know what to do when we fall. And Pacquiao sure didn't win in his fight with Marquez but he already won in our hearts even before the fight started.

I hate to think that others look only at the black dot on the clean piece of paper. He won many fights for us and brought up the Filipino flag. All heroes have their downfall after their victory. But this is not the end for Pacquiao. I believe that he would stand up again on the ring and once again show the Filipino spirit. It's better to fall and rise than to rise and fall.

  21. Even though Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao did not win the recent fight, we should not feel bad for him. I'm still proud that he's a Filipino and he did his best in raising the flag of our country in his fights. He helped the Filipinos in many ways. Not just by dedicating his fights for us but also for donating and lending a hand to the unfortunate people. We should still be happy that he tried his best in the fight and I know that he will continue in making us proud.

  22. Manny Pacquiao is still Manny Pacquiao. He's still the Pacman the we know. The strong one, the brave one, and a fighter. A lost in a boxing competition wouldn't change the thing that he's the greatest boxer of the decade and the hero of the Filipinos. It doesn't mean the end of everything but a start of the new beginning. He's always raising the flag with blue, red, three stars and a sun at the center. In short, our flag, the flag of our beloved country. Although he did not win, still, he's the greatest winner in our hearts. Being a fighter inside the four corners of the ring, is very hard. Imagining myself inside that ring, ohhhh, i can see my knees shaking. XD No one can do that thing except from him. Manny Pacman Pacquiao, for us Filipinos, is the greatest boxer in the world. We cannot let him lying down on that ring, let's help him get up! Let's hold each other's hands! When the world is sitting, we Filipinos must stand up! And the world stands up, we must stand out! And when the worlds tries to stand as out, we'll become the standard.

  23. I don't think that losing a single fight can destroy Manny Pacquiao. He already did so much for us, Filipinos, to be proud of our own race. This is our chance to repay him and show him that everything that he has done are very much appreciated. What I adore about him is that he accepted his defeat with all humility and he still managed to thank God for keeping him safe throughout the fight. We should not be disappointed for a single loss, hence we must be proud of the many times that he brought home the belt. Manny Pacquiao is a legend and he will always be. It's just a test of determination, courage and faith that Manny Pacquiao lost. WE as PACMAN's backup should also encourage him to get back up and raise the flag once more. I am mad when i saw Justin B's post, as if he can defeat Manny Pacquiao in a sparring for posting such picture. He CAN only do that if he knocked out Pacquaio but for know he should learn his place in this world.

Well I think that is the result of being overconfident to his downfall. Everyone I think experienced that. Sinc the Best teacher is experience and for every champion there is defeat. The Last fight of Manny Pacquiao is a defeat but for us Filipinos you are a winner. Even thou you’ve been defeated by Marquez you still fight fair and square. Despite fame and luxury, he never left us. He always shares victory with us. To be proud of him even after a defeat is the least we can do to show him how much we appreciate having one great Manny Pacquiao in our race. 47. "Sleep is for the week!" - SAID NO ONE EVER!*

Pacman should be treated as a hero still, indeed! Losing is normal for people, may it be in boxing, in other sports, or even in some everyday situations. Losing may arise from the following reasons, though not limited to, accidents, lack of training, carelessness**, injuries, and unfair competition***. Now, we can actually say Pacquiao is our own version of Hercules; his power comes from his heart, and he is indeed a great warrior. Hercules also made mistakes, yet he always tried to stand up every time he did fail. This happened even though he was the strongest that ever lived in Earth (though very much fictional). His mistakes were almost all because of carelessness, not being able to suppress his feelings. The same is true for our boxer. He was hit by his opponent's best move, his strong counter-punches. People say he's careless. Well, yes, he was, but the reason for his carelessness was the same reason for his strength; his heart. It was said that perhaps because of the crowd's expectations he tried to knock him out with his power punches, and it was the same reason he was unable to avoid the enemy's punch; Marquez was able to calculate it calmly. Well, in turn, some part of the crown (unfortunately even some of his own nationality) then came and flamed him online. Now, that was a bit unfair, wasn't it? As we have placed our trust in him, he also placed his trust in us. It is a sort of betrayal to bash Pacquiao just because he lost. What happened to the many times that he brought honor and glory to our country? Just like how Hercules was received nicely be the people, we should also receive and treat Pacquiao as a hero. Remember how Hercules accidentally killed his family, and how he then atoned for it and rose up as a true hero in the end. Pacquiao, some time ago, was caught in some issues, and was said to be a gambler and alcoholic, according even to himself. However, he stopped his addictions, atoned for his sins, and started advocating and becoming a crusader-like person, a follower of God. Let us again expect that from this downfall, Pacquiao will most certainly rise up once again; if he does not, as it seems possible, as he is somewhat advised by his family to take care of himself instead of his country just every once in a while, he still deserves a place in the hearts of his brethren and supporters.

I actually was supposed to be posting this about 11:30PM in the evening. However much I have felt the need to suppress it though, I eventually was forced to stop midway, thus giving rise to the strange quote. It is quite a Herculean task to stop one's self from going down**. To tell the truth, I, Mariecon, was unable to do this earlier as I was in the mall accompanying my family. It just then came into my mind; even the Greeks who valued intelligence loved Hercules who had a pure heart more than Odysseus who was wise, intelligent and cunning***; they favored the careless yet brave warrior more than the cold, calculating strategist.

*Actually this was made famous in a certain show; it had quite a great comedic effect, and thus, I used it. ^_^
**Please note that this is kind of like a pun as Hercules did go down to the underworld. I actually kind of laughed at first when I made it because it was so lame. XD

  48. We should still be happy for Manny Pacquiao for being a very succesful boxer. He made the Philippines known to the whole wide world. He became one of our idols and so he became the People's Champ. In good times and in bad times we should be by his side supporting him all the way.

Its always like this in sports and in real life sometimes we're up, sometimes we're down. Its our attitude that matters. its how we accept what happened.

So for Mr. Manny Pacquiao: We are so happy for you! Congratulations!

    ReplyDelete
  49. We will always be proud of you, Pacquiao! You will always be the winner for us Filipinos.... Losing a fight is part of being an athlete, it serves as an inspiration for athletes to dedicate themselves more in the sport they play in order for them to achieve something, but for me , Pacquiao has proven much more than what we expected. We will always be thankful with him for having a countrymen like you. You have proven a lot and for me it is time for you to focus now on your health. We don't want to lose a countrymen like him. Pacquiao will always be our Hero no matter what happens! Godbless him and the Philippines! mabuhay!

  50. "We were with him when he was up, we're even more with him when he's down. We support you Manny!"So true!. Manny Pacquiao became one of Pinoy's Pride. He really give his best in every fight he have but unfortunately he lost his fight with Marquez. But that's nothing because for me his the winner and Losing is part of being an athlete, it serves as an inspiration for them to dedicate themselves more in their sports. And talking about what Justin Beiber had did. I was so grrrr to Justin Bieber.
He didn't show respect to Manny Pacquiao. That's Cyberbullying.
But in the end, Pacquaio will always be a Filipino Hero no matter what happens! Godbless Pacquiao!

  51. Don't worry, when he fell he still landed on beds of money --uh I mean the hearts of many Filipinos. We should remember that in the last years (I can't recall a year where I haven't seen Manny Pacquiao boxing in TV) he made us Filipinos proud. It's as if we were in MGM and we won with him.

But I should say honestly that I disliked how his mother reacted to his lost. Blaming the pastors ministering to Manny and stuff but that's another issue. But I believe that Pacquiao will stand again stronger than before.

    ReplyDelete
  52. When Pacquiao was defeated by Marquez many of us were affected. Maybe because we didn't expect that Pacquiao will be defeated. We all know that in the world of sports every game is unpredictable. Like pacquiao, he is one of the greatest boxer of all time winning 8 championship belts from 8 divisions. So if you compare the loss of Pacquiao and the glory he brought to our country 1 loss is just a little thing. For me Pacquiao is still a winner and will fight and stand again for the glory of our country.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Losing doesn't necessarily mean he's not a winner. In fact, he bagged belts from 8 divisions plus other non-belt fights. Everyone of course will be shocked with the sudden change of events, we all know that he always have the upper hand. But as what the elders say "fall 7 times, stand up 8 times". At least Manny has a full-track album! Beat that!

  54. Boxing is a game. There is no one who is absolutely unbeatable. You win some, you lose some. Even if Pacquiao lost, he has already proven a lot of things and he has climbed heights that no one has ever reached before. Also, even if he lost, this is not disappointing or embarrassing because we all know that Marquez is one of Pacquiao's toughest opponents. He has proven that Filipinos are strong. Looking at the fight itself, we can see that Pacquiao fought hard, and showed impressive fortitude. We should stand beside him now because the support of his countrymen will give him strength.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Manny has proven himself already. Being the first eight division champion with ten world titles is more than enough for us to be proud of him. He, alone, raised our flag on the field of boxing which made us famous internationally. I can also say that he is the reason for the continuous success of other aspiring filipino boxers whom he inspires. I would like to thank Mr. Juan Manuel Marquez for that punch. The punch which made Manny fall, and the Filipino to rise.

    ReplyDelete
  56. It is the attitude of Manny that I am proud of. For me, it doesn't matter if he win or lose a game. What important is how he reacts. I am proud of him for he does not run from challenges, tries his best, and what ever the outcome will be, he accepts. :))

  57. "True champions aren't always the ones that win, but those with the most guts. -Mia Hamm"
Pacman would always be the Filipino Champ! He has already proven a lot of things that can't be vanished by just one lucky punch. Aside from being a champion in boxing, he is also a representative of Sarangani and also a responsible husband and son. A true champion! :)

and Bieber is a baby baby baby oooh :)))

    ReplyDelete
  58. So what if Pacman lost? He raised our flag, now it's time for us to raise him. He brings pride to our country so many times.Yes, Bieber is a baby baby baby oh... but i think it's not right for him to insult our owned Pacman. After all, he's not a Filipino, he didn't appreciate Pacman. He already proven himself and that is the attitude of Manny I am proud of. And according to the article above, he's not simply a boxer, but a reponsible citizen, husband and son.

    DEATH TO BIEBER

    ReplyDelete
  60. I really like this article. Especially the one about Justin Bieber, that made me laugh. Anyway, I remember every time Manny has a fight, we (I together my family) are really keyed up to watch to the point that we are acting as if we’re the ones who are in the boxing ring that we are all shouting and all. You will not hear any vehicle outside for everyone is watching intensely in their houses. Everyone will be happy when he wins and will be sad when he loses, and I’d say, for a moment, at least I feel that we are all connected. And isn’t it amazing of him that he is one of the means for us to be united? And I think that is the essence of being a true champion which, no doubt, makes us really proud of him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. What goes up, must come down. There is always a downfall for all of us. "We were with him when he was up, we're even more with him when he's down. We support you Manny!" I totally agree with this. Once a filipino pride, always a filipino pride. We are proud of you Manny! Our one and only "Pacman". :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. "You win some, you lose some". Pacquiao, no matter what is already considered as our Filipino pride. So even if he did not win, we as Filipinos should still be there for him. Yes, it's sad that he lost, but still, we should be thankful that he's okay.

    ReplyDelete
  63. as some people say, even the mightiest shall fall.

for Manny, he proved to the world that he is great and he doesn't need to prove it again. he is an inspiration to every Filipino. like some advertisement say "kayang kaya ng mga Pinoy makipagsabayan sa mundo."

    ReplyDelete
  64. Defeat doesn't end one's life. Pacquiao has already proven himself. He may have lost this time but he has far more victories than anyone. I admire him not as a boxer but as a citizen of this country. Someone who came from the lower class is now a famous billionaire. He has been an inspiration and will always be one of those people you look up to.

    ReplyDelete
  65. "Ang aangas niyo ah! Kayo kaya mag-boxing!" Seriously, boxing isn't a piece of cake if you think it is. He lost? So what. He's still the only one boxer to have eight belts! Before you go insulting and complaining on his loss, you should first try to surpass his achievements.

And wether we like it or not, if not for Pacman and other Filipinos out there who fought for the flag of our country, the Philippines would be barely recognized at all. And yet, here we are mocking him just because he lost. That ain't fair at all dude. It should be expected that boxing is a game where one wins and the other losees, as well as Pacquiao isn't immortal that he will always win.

It also denotes that maybe it's time that we should begin moving our own asses and take our turn to carry the flag of our motherland. That we should no longer cheer for these champions, but instead be the champions ourselves and continue what they've left for us.

    ReplyDelete
  66. He just lost this time. But his still alive so. Just go with it Filipinos will just be here to support him. Not just filipinos all of the world Pacquia is officially a legend :D

    ReplyDelete
  67. for me what I saw is a brave soldier who knows his limitations, knows how to surrender, and knows how to accept defeat. Manny is a true Filipino, his attitude never fails us and I think he does not need to prove himself anymore because he already proven himself from the controversies which tries to bring him down and from the achievements he brought us. Mabuhay ang Pinoy!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Paquiao is a great fighter. He has gotten the trust of the majority because of his speed and power. Still, Manny Pacquiao is the best because he's brave enough despite the fact that he's old now. His capacitance to be a winner has reach its end.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Failures are the stepping stones to success. This man is already very successful, I know he already understands that being defeated is not a mortal sin. He maybe had a lot of it when he started the sport. I like Pacquiao for I can see he's always doing this not just for his family, but for the entire nation. Whether he won or not, I will still salute him.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Manny Pacquiao is a father, a congressman, a boxer, and most of all for the Filipinos is a Winner. Being an eight-division world champion, in which he has won ten world titles is just to prove that he's the best inspite of his 5 losses including the knockout punch of Juan Manuel Marquez and all the insulting pictures posted doesn't mean that he's giving up. He doesn't want to retire just having a loss so for me and the Filipinos he's still the winner, the Filipino Pride.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Manny Pacquiao was, is, will be an inspiration to all. It's not that easy to get to where he is. You have to fall to learn to stand up. He never gave up and stood for us Filipinos. He is a LEGEND and will always be.

To all of us, he is not just a winner but a Champion in our hearts and the Philippine History.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Manny Pacquiao is still a champion for all of us Filipinos even though he win or loss because he had proved to us that in every fight that he face he is giving his best. All of us are celebrating when Pacquiao win against someone but we should still be at his back to support him even though he loss this fight because just the mere fact that he gives his best for our country's pride is enough reason to be proud of him.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The most unhappy mistake would be the greatest source of learning ,so we should learn to stand up just like what Manny Pacquiao did. Win or lose ,proud to be a Pinoy!

  74. Despite of losing the match, we Filipinos must be proud of Manny Pacquiao. Knowing several factors of their fight really affects the boxer inside the ground-shaking ring, for example, he only prepares for the match for two months, but his opponent struggles for four months. We must support Manny Pacquiao for what might be the outcome of the battle, because he is our Filipino pride. Whenever you met anybody and knows your a Filipino, the first thing that came into their minds was Manny. So, we have support him in spite of the cyber-bullying positioning Manny's back during the fight.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Pacquiao did his best. He did many things that Filipinos will be proud of. So whatever happens to him in his battle, we will always be proud of you, Mr. Pinoy Pride

  76. Does one battle determine a person’s infinite capabilities? Not only I think, but I know it does not. It’s sad that some Filipinos were even the ones who lost fascination to Pacquiao’s unparalleled greatness in the field of boxing. I mean, seriously guys? One loss and you reacted like he was never a good fighter? I just pity other people’s brain capabilities. “Rep. Manny Pacquiao is still a winner” – well of course he is! He has always been, and he will always be.

But let’s talk about the people’s theories on why he lost…a religious conversion was done, a rosary was not worn and rumors that he was too aggressive and determined to knock his opponent down. Wow. These people actually had the nerve to include Rep. Manny Pacquiao’s personal life? Whoa there, Filipinos. What is with you? Can’t you just leave him alone with his life decisions? Clearly, he doesn’t need you to interfere with his life and tell him how to live it. And bashing on him about his spiritual life? Well that is something really boorish for you to do. Sad, sad world.

    ReplyDelete
  77. All of us should still be proud of being Filipino. Even though Manny Pacquiao loss his recent fight, we shouldn't be ashame of it because he won a lot of fights and he's only a human. Besides, it is not the end of the world for him and he can still help other people even though he loss that certain fight. ///xxx

  78. With all the articles that I've read, this is the most... how do I say this... POINTLESS one. I mean he already lost a couple of times in the past, who cares? I mean what's the reason for all this ruckus saying that "we're there for him" or "he is still a winner" like it took away every part of him. I honestly think that the outcomes of his matches is not a big deal for him anymore. He already attained what he truly desired and I guess he fulfilled his life to the fullest.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Even though his 5th loss technically tarnish his record, he certainly put a gallant effort to squeeze out every Joule in his punches just to beat Marquez. And his 5 losses are no match to his 54 victories.

STILL A GREAT JOB! God is with you, Manny! :D

    ReplyDelete
  80. Even though Manny lost in his last fight, he's been a champion for everyone. He' still a hero. H still made on a effort to give honor to his and our country. So, win or lose, Manny will always be a hero for every Filipino.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Manny Pacquiao had always been bringing honor to our country. One defeat will definitely never be equal to the tons of victories he had. It would just be senseless if we keep on talking about this matter of contention. I mean, this is pointless.

Manny Pacquiao will perpetually be THE Manny Pacquaio. :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. At this point, we can say that Manny Pacquiao is already a successful person and achieved all of this through his hard work. Although, this time is not his time to win but we should always keep in mind that this defeat does not fully define who he really is. This loss is totally not a big issue to deal with. With this, we shall continue to support him all throughout, in his ups and downs, as a Filipino citizen. Filipino Pride! :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. When Manny won his previous fights, we call him the "PEOPLE'S CHAMP"; When Manny lost his last fight, we call him still the "PEOPLE'S CHAMP". I am still proud of Manny for giving his effort and honor for our country. For every fight he faced, the Philippines is in his back supporting him with all its might. So even Pacquiao wins or loses he will still be entitled as one of the best fighter in the boxing history! Proud to be Pinoy! :)

  85. We should be proud on Manny Pacquiao even if he lose his fight. He bring us 8 belts and he was became the pound for pound king. We are not all perfect, in our life there are times that we are down and sometimes we are on the top. So we must think on the times that manny wins not on the time that he lose, maybe he lose now but he will win someday and we will be proud again on him. He is not only a fighter but he is a great Hero.

  86. its not the belts nor the title that counts, its the effort and the willingness to show the world the ability of the FILIPINOS to stand and still fight. even if Manny Pacquiao lose his fight, he doesnt lose the trust and the pride of the filipinos. he showed the world the reality of life and inspite of the up's and down's , we are still striving to reach our goal, learn to stand up and face a new challenge in life.

  92. He didn't really lose in this battle. We all saw him fighting with determination, giving everything that he could. His acceptance of loss made me admire him even more. After the moment when Marquez is announced winner, he stood up, shook hands with his opponent, smiling.

The honor he gave our country in his field is something to be proud of. He hadn't won, but still, I am proud of him, proud that he is a Filipino, proud that we are of the same lineage.

  95. Mr. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao gave us honor and pride to this country. His loss is just one of his losses. It's life so, he's not a winner of every fight. Losing in this fight does not mean he is nothing anymore. He already achieved a lot for the Philippines in the field of boxing.

And pertaining to the people who ridiculed him, just let them be. I think Mr. Pacquiao and many Filipinos are affected, greatly or not, by this issue. They just let them express themselves. And it just reflect their personality.

And to end this, we should let him decide what will he do according to this matter. We need to accept his desicion if he still continues or stops doing this sport.

We would always be proud of him no matter what. He brought pride to our country and we are honored to have him as a fellowman. As for Bieber's post, he should not posted that photo. It may seem funny to other people but it is a disrespectful thing to do. Nevertheless, Pacquiao is still and will always be the People's Champ.

  98. Being a true champion means not always being on top but also accepting defeat. A true champion may not always be a winner, but he is a someone who made a difference. Manny Pacquiao really is a true champion. All of us can reach the top of our goals. We can be there for a while and enjoy the glory. But after sometime, you will also have to stoop down. This does not mean that you've lost. it's just a start of another beginning. All of the Filipinos are proud of Manny for his achievements and for raising the flag of our country. Let's support him all through out. For in our hearts, he is still the true champion, a true hero

  99. I strongly agree to author. Even though Manny Pacquiao loss he is still a winner to us, Filipinos. I'm still proud of him. He has done a lot for our country already to be down by a single loss. HE had raised our flag a couple times so now let US raised him. A winner will not always be a winner, he will have a loss in some point. A person cannot be always on top, it's tiring.. he should also stoop down. So let us still be proud of him. Go Pinoy Pride! :)
