Olympic Stadium in London : Bringing Together People Through Sports

The Olympic Stadium is incredible! The cheering, the loud cheers,...and everything else makes it so remarkable.

People need to remember that the Olympics aren't about showing off to other countries about how great we are, and about how big we can build. It's about bringing everyone together through sports.Truly Olympics makes the world unite and the feeling of peace among mankind....Thank you London 2012

The Olympic Stadium in Olympic Park in Stratford, London, England, was the centrepiece of the 2012 Summer Olympics, the last stop in the 2012 Olympics torch relay, and the venue of the track and field events, opening ceremonies, and closing ceremonies. It was also the central venue of the 2012 Summer Paralympics.

Here's a short clip released way back 2010 and was meant as a promotional video to promote the Olympic Stadium for the Olympics 2012:

Below are more pictures of our visit at this remarkable stadium:

It is located at Marshgate Lane in London's Stratford district in the Lower Lea Valley. The stadium has a capacity of 80,000, making it the third-largest stadium in England behind Wembley Stadium and Twickenham Stadium.

The stadium design received a mixed response from the media, with reviews ranging from "magnificent" to a "bowl of blancmange". The design was promoted as example of "sustainable development", but some architecture critics have questioned both its aesthetic value and suitability as a national icon – especially when compared to Beijing National Stadium.

  1. I think having this kind of establishment will empower tourism in a certain country. And i think the money that will be used to build infrastructures like this will be back to the government after a year or two :) For me, this will be an amusement. This will be a place to enhance abilities in terms of sports. This will really help to our country in terms of sports. Athletes can really elevate what they have. For our country to be known in the entire world :D
